Should I time travel? I gone this long with out time traveling,SO I am like whats the point? But I need to start hybriding so..Idk

idk I timetravel when I need to start a PWP and theirs a fishing tourney/event happening. Other than that I avoid it in my main town because I like taking it day by day. On the other hand I love TT-ing in my old cycle town and my now second town

I say go for it, if you feel like it. Play by your own preferences and take purist preaching with a grain of salt.

EDIT: I'd also read up on a few guides just to play it safe. I recommend enacting Beautiful Town and keeping an eye on your villagers, as lexy_ said.

Go ahead if you want to. Just make sure you take time to talk to your villagers. They won't ping you about moving if you don't talk to them for over a week and it's really easy to accidentally do that when your TTing. And yes, enacting the Beautiful Town ordinance would be a good idea if you haven't already.

TT two to three days at a time to prevent any villager moving accidents. Also, you only get penalized for TTing backwards.

I've always TT'ed.
But I did it day-by-day even if it is a tiring process (however I can get all the Fertilizer and Bush Starts ahaha) and I did it for the Princess Series. Keep in mind that I went from a real life day (in January) to March X_X

But now I'm in 30th April XD

Doesn't the Beautiful Town ordinance lower your chances of getting hybrids? Doesn't seem like such a great idea if they're only TT-ing for hybrids to begin with.

Anyway, OP, you should just do what you think is best and not worry about what others think. Personally, I've never seen the point in TT-ing, especially since it makes you lose villagers and shrinks your tree and all kinds of stuff. So I did vote no on your poll, but I don't think it's "cheating" technically. I just think it's pointless and growing hybrids is more fun if you do it the old-fashioned way, IMO.

No, the beautiful ordinance doesn't have an affect. In fact, if anything, it improves your chances of getting hybrids because with the beautiful ordinance enacted, you can just water the flowers you're trying to breed. Which means a higher chance that those flowers will spawn a hybrid.

shrinks your tree

TT'ing does not shrink your tree whatsoever.

makes you lose villagers

It makes you lose villagers if you TT carelessly, but if you do it cautiously, there's not a thing to worry about.

But anyways, I agree that you should do whatever you want. If you're not comfortable with doing it then don't, but if you want try a different way of playing the game, go for it. c:

The Beautiful Ordinance helps keep the town looking neat and tidy. The purpose of this is to better accommodate players who might not be able to visit and help maintain their town on a daily basis. The key benefits of choosing this ordinance are:

Villagers are more likely to water or plant flowers
Time travelling does not affect the town's environment
Roaches will not appear at all
Weeds will appear less often
Hybrids are 20% more likely to spawn
Trash will no longer be fished out of the water

The Ordinance would give a more higher chance of new hybrids spawning, however, if this is set then gold roses will not be able to spawn.

No, because you are competition to my hybrid shop... Jks. If you ever want me just PM, I'll see what I can do. ;)

If you really want to, I recommend it, but not if you want your town to feel natural.
I didn't vote on the poll because the option for no said "No! It's cheating!" and although I would have picked no, I don't believe that Time Traveling is cheating.

So wait, the ordinance only lowers your chances of getting hybrids by 20% if you don't TT? How the crap is that fair?!

The tree thing is just a rumor, I know. One of my friends I play with online TTs, though, and said she noticed her tree was looking smaller and is now convinced it's from TT-ing. The same thing happened in Zack Scott's ACNL Let's Play after he started TT-ing into the future, so Idk, but if it's wrong then I apologize for spreading misinformation. That was never my intention.

I do disagree you with, though, on the losing villagers thing as I firmly believe there is no way to cautiously TT. Heck, I've seen people come on here distraught because they were careful with TT-ing and their dreamies still moved out unexpectedly.

Thanks for setting me straight on the other stuff, though. As I said in my previous post, I think TT-ing is pointless, so I never really bothered to properly learn about everything that comes with it and again, I apologize if it seemed like I was spreading misinformation or fear mongering or whatever. That was never my intention and I was merely trying to share my opinion on the matter.

best kept secret: nobody cares. like really, nobody cares if you time travel. if i see someone with a really nice town or a ton of hybrids i just assume they time travel- same with people who have all really nice villagers, i assume they traded/bought them. it doesn't matter, it doesn't make me think they didn't work any less hard for it.

i don't see how buying/trading for things other people earned via time traveling is any different than time traveling yourself, and basically everyone on this forum is "guilty" of that, so i mean... yeah. lol. you might as well save the bells and just travel yourself.

I personally don't time travel! I think it takes away from the game...waiting for hybrids and real events on the day they are in real life makes the game so fun :)
