I've been having some problems lately regarding my Animal Crossing New Leaf town. I have been considering whether to restart or not but I'm unsure of what to do. I want a fresh start but at the same time, I don't want to lose it all.

Pros: :)
-I hate my town layout. It has a weird dip and I just can't stand it anymore.
-I'm not the biggest fan of my town name.
-My characters name is not a name I go by anymore.
-I don't like my house placement.
-On the first day I found a perfect fruit, planted it and it just grew as a normal tree -_-

Cons: :(
-I lose everything, (especially my bow wig and dollhouse dress)
-I delete a lot of crossbreed flowers that I LOVE!
-I lose museum donations, encyclopedia, badges etc
-I lose the money I saved.

As you can see, I'm struggling to find a solution. Should I restart? I would love to hear other opinions and would appreciate the help, thanks! -xcrossingqueenx

If you know someone in real life who plays NL you could get them to hold your items, bells, and perhaps even a villager or two (with careful planning and a lot of effort). If not, you could potentially find someone on these forums willing to let you keep your stuff in their town (usually a 2nd or other spare town, not their main). I think that kind of thing happens quite a lot around here, though I've never participated at all myself.

Amanda is right, if you ask on the train station board I'm sure people would be happy to help hold your items, bells, flowers. Remember to check wifi ratings though to avoid any risk or worry.

well the cons that you listed are nothing to worry about actually. you can just find a player here who can be trusted and you can transfer anything valuable to you to their town first and you reset. so after you're happy with your new town, you can get your items back from the player.

Yes, as everyone else says reset and have people hold your stuff.

Also this should've probably been posted in the resetting thread sticky.

Thank you! This is quite helpful and I think I'm going to restart. I'm quite new to this forum actually, are the people on here trustworthy? Because the people that I know in real life who play Animal Crossing don't really anymore :)

I recently reset my town for similar reasons. I used a nickname and I now use my own name, my house was so far away from everything else in the town and I hated my town name. I agree that it is fun to reset because you can do everything fun over again, more specifically doing things differently than before. However I did have my brother hold on to a few things of mine in the game through his town and got them back after I reset. Now I am much happier with my town. If these things really bother you, it shouldn't be a problem to reset. You may even like it more. Just have somebody, a friend of yours hold on to the things you want to keep in your new town.

Members of this community give each other wi-fi ratings to build credibility for trustworthy traders. At the end of an online interaction, you can go to someone's profile, click on the "Wi-fi" tab, and rate your interaction as either Positive, Negative, or Neutral, with a brief explanation.

Most people display this rating under their avatar on every post, at the bottom of the list. You will see a "Wi-fi Ratings:" section (or something like that) that will show a number and then a percentage. The number is the amount of ratings they've received. The percentage is the percentage of those ratings that has been positive. If you can find someone who has received a high number of ratings and 100 percent of them are positive, then it's very likely that they will be trustworthy. If you don't see the number on their post, you can still see their ratings by going to their profile and clicking on the "Wi-fi" tab.

I'm sure there are a few people here who aren't trustworthy, but there are also lots of perfectly nice people who wouldn't mess with your stuff at all.

Yes most of the people on this forum are really kind.
It's best to look for someone who hasn't got any bad wifi ratings. It would also help if they have been on the forums for a while.

I think you should just restart cuz you can always fill up your encyclopedia again and ask someone to hold onto your money, clothes, and furniture for you. :)

Thank you everyone! This has been really helpful. I have just restarted and I have someone holding on to some stuff for me. I am much happier now :D xx
