Should I reset on New Years Day??

So I started my town in early October because I originally couldn't wait until 2016 to reset it. From then I:
have saved over 100 million bells
collected DLC items
got all my dreamies
Expanded my house fully

But TBH I'm not happy with my town layout. It just really bugs me so much! How I originally planned to have 3 bridges in specific places but ended up only having 1 in the right place and that's not even perfect. The campsite, caf? and police station location bugs the hell outta me and even some of my villagers locations annoy me!

If I then I can start afresh. I could use the stalk market to earn all the bells back again! I can specifically plot where I want pwp's and villagers! But I don't wanna lose all my dreamies I paid millions of bells for! I paid:
Julian-Random move in
Diana- 10 million
Whitney- 10 million
Bunnie- Free
Marshal- Free
Kid Cat- Free
Octavian- 5 million
Merengue- 10 million
Drago- Free
Pekoe- 1 million

It seems like a waste of money if I just reset my town like that. What do I do??!!

I don't know if it's viable to you, but one option is to buy another cartridge, and get lent a 3ds (if you don't have 2 already). Then you can slowly move everything to your new town, and start fresh with it layout-wise. (-:

It sounds like a good idea but if I was to reset, then I'd probably be in the mood to start fresh.

Yeah you can reset, since you have done so before and now you know what you want and need for a new town, plus the villagers were about 36 million? can use forums to sell items and other animal crossing new leaf trading sites, but also I think you could see if any friends/people/close friends ect could hold your most liked items before you restart so you got an easier way of starting fresshhh, good luck :^)

I'm resetting on 1/1, and I'm trying to sell as much of my stuff as I can before then. I'm selling for TBT, rather than bells, but you could sell your things for IGB and transfer it if you like. I'm sure you'd find someone on here that could hold your stuff. That would mean that you could take other items with you. Hope this helps x.

enjoy the struggles of starting new.

its just pixels. if you're that caught up on bells, sell some tbt for igb.

You have to learn to live with your town. No town is going to be perfect, and you have to accept that and work with it. Most cases of resetting are about town maps. If you dislike your town map now, keep in mind that when you created this town you picked it for a reason. You liked the town map back then, but are slowly seeing the bad aspects of it. If you reset, this process is going to start all over again. The first few weeks you'll like your town, but then you'll slightly dislike it more and more and reset again. I've had the disliking of my town map with my current town as well, but I realised resetting wouldn't solve anything so I continued with my town as it was and worked around the things I didn't like. In order to have a 'perfect' town, you have to accept it's imperfections. ^^

That's actually very good advice and it's true: No town is "perfect." However, sometimes it's just fun to start over. After all, it's a game and a game should be enjoyable. If it starts to feel like a chore, a break or a fresh start is needed. I love Pripyat, but I've reset my other town several times this year. I'm trying to stick with it this time, though, because of what you said. If I'm still lukewarm in a few months, well... LOL

I consider my first town a trial run. When I started it I thought there were only the four maps available for everyone. I didn't know about plot resetting villagers, nor had played to know how I would like the placement of permanent structures; I put my cafe to close to the bridge I wanted to build, etc.
I don't regret starting a new town AT ALL. I transferred a ton of items and even a few favorite villagers though.

My own personal opinion and take on this:

I restarted my old town, Mayville. The layout was alright, I liked the red town hall / train station, and my villager locations were alright. However, I lost some dream villagers due to TT accidents, so I restarted and have my new town, Wulas.

I swore to myself that I would not spend a single bell or lurk cycling threads for my dream villagers. I swore that I would get them with my own means, with my own effort, no matter how long it takes. And honestly, I've found the game a lot more fun. My town map is perfect, I love the town fruit, I love that I have an east coast, and I can live with the fact that my town hall and train station are green (I would have preferred red). Just by playing my game, campsite resetting, TTing day by day, I've already found two of my dream villagers -- Marshal and Whitney (who I'm currently plot resetting, even though she is SO stubborn and just doesn't want to move where I want her).

It wasn't until I restarted my town that I remembered how fun it was working on completing my catalog, working on getting donations to my museum, upgrading the shops, and that sense of accomplishment when I get a villager I want -- original, and through my own efforts.

I'm happy with my town, and I don't regret restarting one bit. Hope this helps you decide, even if it's basically just me ranting about my experience haha

Yeah, I don't want to say resetting is bad; I've reset twice as well and it's really understandable if you want a fresh start after inactivity or something - though in cases that you start disliking your town after a while, it's usually important to realise that resetting won't neccessarily make your new town better. There are always exceptions though and in the end you decide if you want to reset or not.
