I used to have one, but I ended up leaving it behind because so many people were ignorant (and as I've said in previous thread posts), racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc. and I really just didn't want to deal with it. However, I miss all the friends I made and the giveaways and just the general aesthetic of having an AC blog.

I'm trying to convince myself that it would be different if I followed different people. What's everyone else's opinions?

i have one but i'm bored of tumblr so i haven't used it in a while

it depends, like you said, on if you find people to follow that don't make posts like that

depending on how badly it affects you then you could go for it anyways! if it ends up being just as bad as the first time you can quit again. if you have a main blog you could reblog giveaways there maybe?

I do have a main blog but I actually left that one too because it wasn't so good for my mental health and I really just needed to remove myself from the community I was in. If I did make a new AC Tumblr, I would make a new email for it.

ooh, in that case it's probably not a good idea. some blogs don't reblog any text besides guides or giveaways, so maybe you could follow some of those if you really want to make one

I don't know what advice to give you, since I don't know how people began threatening you in the first place.

I think it would be a good idea to not give out a lot of personal information about your identity, since trolls won't have anything pick up on to troll you with. This is especially true if you're just keeping an AC tumblr as a way of archiving QR codes and tutorials you found neat. If you want to be more personal, you can always tag your posts in such a way that they won't come up in searches as easily (so don't tag them as ACNL or anything like that) and be very selective in the people you follow or respond to. You can always create an empty or very superficial primary blog, and then document stuff about your town in a secondary password-protected tumblr (I don't really use tumblr a whole lot but from what I understand, you can't password-protect your main tumblr).

I hope this helps and that you have a better experience with it this time around! I'm so sorry that people were horrible to you.

I haven't seen that ignorant side of the AC fandom on Tumblr yet, but I have heard of it. I have a AC Blog and it hasn't given me an rude anons or anything like that yet.

If you do make one, I don't think it'll be too bad. The majority of the AC blogs I know are pretty sweet and willing to help. It's only those select few that try to bring everyone down.

I have one but I only have 5 followers so its nothing special right now lol

Didn't know tumblr was like that, but do what you want.

I have one and i just follow people who post pretty much strictly AC that way you have no other stuff filter in.
I've only met nice people though~ I think its also a great way to store all of your AC pics! and what not

Stick to AC stuff. Don't do anything personal! That's how you avoid being flamed. The more personal you are, the more you open yourself to people. Some may care about you, but most will not. Internet is brutal. People find every opportunity to throw a knife at people. You either have to build up a resistance to the pain become very good at ignoring and not reading hurtful comments.

To have a successful blog, you have to be creative and present new ideas that others haven't done yet. That's how you get active followers. Look at the AC blogs that have the most follows and fan mail. The owner presents new information and creative houses or QR codes that keep the followers interested.

If you can do those things, I say go for it. I'm on tumblr, but not as a blogger. I'd always be happy to help you and watch over you and defend you.

Go for a tumblr account. I made my account last November cuz I needed a place to keep my design QR codes. Now I have hundreds of followers cuz people like what I make.

I have ac tumblr and keeping it is really fun. People there are really nice and I even got some of my dreamies from there c: Sometimes people are rude and annoying, but just ignore them. I've had some problems with people there as well, but still most of the people I've met there are friendly and generous~
