Should I Have Said Yes?

Last night (I was about to go to bed) Anabelle wanted me to get six signatures from other towns. I really wanted to, since I've never had the opportunity, but...I had to say no, since it was too late.
Was that a mistake? Is it possible to get a villager picture, or do you get a gift at all? I don't really mind if I missed my picture chance, but how long does it take before she asks me again? Is it just random?
Thank you so much to everyone who answers...I'm just kind of worried and I want to know so much about my "mistake" or "nice decision!"

It's just random I think. I've gotten sigs for a villager before and the very next day they asked for more. I've only ever gotten random gifts from doing these little quests for them. But I have seen that others have gotten pictures from doing them. Probably just depends on your previous relationship with your villager

Don't worry, she isn't too crushed! They ask at very inconvenient times sometimes. Don't worry about it. It is possible to get a picture, but same goes for many tasks.

It is kind of grueling to hunt signatures anyway.

She or someone else will ask again soon. It is better to decline than say yes and ignore it!

Well, petitions do help you get pictures.. If you done it and a lot of other tasks, you could've gotten her picture. But since signing petitions isn't the only way to get a picture, I wouldn't worry too much.

You don't know how many tasks I've done for bluebear/fang/pekoe while time travelling that i've just given up.

Petitions are helpful for pictures- it's how I got Blanche's but there are other ways.

For instance, Skye has now given me her picture THREE TIMES, all for returning items to her or bringing her fruit.

Tbh its so hard to get a pic unless you reset after giving them the petition tbh, its unlikely you would have got it on first try
