I've been looking for Dom, for what seems like forever. I've never used Nookazon and frankly, it scares me with the stories I've heard. He isnt that common and I havent seen anyone selling him here in a long time. I'm looking at the site and I don't like how even if it's not an auction, people just make offers. I don't like auctions and it seems like both options pretty much operate as such.

Anyone have other recommendations on where else I could go to try and find him?

:)

If you haven't already, I recommend posting in the "Looking for Villager" thread in New Neighbor Network. If you have and haven't received any offer, you could try the Nookazon discord for villager trading. It's super active and there will often be many Dom's for sale on any given day. Look for people who have a picture with him in boxes and their discord user name. Often times there will be a buyout or you can just make your offer for someone to accept.

I'd also recommend when doing the trade if something feels off and you think they might try to take your tickets and end the session, to just instantly close your game from the home menu. Honestly it seems like scammers and such have dropped drastically due to the game being slightly less active, and villager prices kinda dropping across the board, but you never know.

I would recommend reddit, more specifically r/acvillager. Always check post history. I’ve had all positive experiences there by being careful. Discord and nookazon I highly dislike.

I see, thanks for the tip! Hadn't thought of checking out their discord.

I may do that.

Ahh okay! I hadn't checked out if there was a reddit for villagers. I'll check that out too. Thank you!

I used nookazon once to sell a villager and it went great tbh! friendly and fast ^^

The villager "market" here on the forum has been pretty slow... I used nookazon to sell a villager for the first time, and for a couple trades ever since, and it was totally fine. Just check the feedback just like you would here in the forum. It's not as bad as some people say it is! And you can find anything pretty quickly

If you're not seeing any sellers around on the villager market here, I'd go to Discord to try and find Dom. There's the Nookazon discord, but also the main Animal Crossing: New Horizons discord that has a channel for villager trades.

As the others have mentioned, make sure that you are doing your research, and don't be afraid to stop a trade because something feels off. Nookazon has a good safe trading guide here, which includes some tips for villager trading.

They recommend that you ask the seller to send you a screenshot of them standing next to their boxed villager saying your username. I've not tried that myself (the one time I bought a villager I didn't do my due diligence, but I was fortunate I wasn't scammed!) but it seems like it would be an effective way to make sure the seller really has your villager.

I would wait til he's up for sale here. I just can't imagine wanting to take the risk of dealing with a non-TBT member

While I trust Nookazon for item trades, I’m extremely leery of villager trades. I’d probably either wait here or start selling stuff there for a ton of NMT (if you’re alright with villager hunting like I am).

I wouldn't highly recommend Nookazon for getting a villager unless you're really cautious. When I was on my Raymond hunt I almost got scammed 3 times on Nookazon but luckily my 4th time I successfully got him from a very nice and understanding trader. So you can still get him on Nookazon, you just need to know the warning signs of scammers.
