Should I get the New 3DS XL?

Is the 3D really good?

Can I browse TBT with the Internet Browser?

I have the old 3DS, the 3D is not really good.

I haven't tried browsing the internet on my n3DS XL, generally I prefer my computer or smartphone for that.

The 3D on the n3DS XL is effective, the face sensing does work. It didn't hurt my eyes as much as regular 3DS XL, and I think you will notice a difference compared to your original 3DS. I don't use 3D very often however, but at least I've tried it out.

If you need talking into the purchase, you might not want it. Listen to your instincts.
It's a lot of money for an internet stranger's opinion.

So far, there's only two games in North America that requires owning a New 3DS model to play. Those games are Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and The Binding of Isaac. Although they said they'll be developing more of these exclusives, there's actually no announced 3DS game falling in that category.

There are some 3DS games that benefit extra New 3DS features while still being compatible with the older 3DS models, such as Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, Codename S.T.E.A.M., Azure Striker Gunvolt, and more. Reduced load times, extra buttons that can be used in Circle Pad Pro compatible games, and other features are added whenever you use a New 3DS model.

If you never bought any 3DS system before, the New 3DS XL is the one that I recommend the most. Otherwise, you'll be inclined to not buying it unless if you are really craving for these exclusive features and not wanting to resort to a NFC reader peripheral that eats up 2 AA batteries.

I'd say get it if you have the money and are willing to spare some to upgrade. If you don't care for all the new features on it though and money is tight, I'd stick with your old 3DS :)

I'm not sure about Binding Isaac (never played it or heard it till now), but Xenoblade Chronicles 3D definitely makes the New 3DS XL viable to buy. It's one of the best and most fun RPGs to date that originally was on the Wii, but they recreated it and made it awesome for this system. It's also one of the few RPGs' I've been able to get through without any trouble while it still being challenging, and the game is virtually impossible to get on its Wii predecessor. If you are into RPGs and Fantasy stuff then Xenoblade Chronicles 3D definitely adds consideration to the table about getting a New 3DS XL :)

I upgraded from the original 3DS that released in 2011 to the New 3DS XL and everything about it kicks my old 3DS' booty. The 3D is sooooo much better as the angle you view the screen won't make the 3D look bad.

I actually tried it, and you CAN browse TBT from the internet explorer in the home menu. I didn't really make any posts because I dislike typing on the 3DS with the stylus.
Other awesome things are how much better the graphics look, how much faster the Internet works, and how much faster things load in games and just in general.

I took my really old 3DS into a game exchange store and took some other old games I didnt play, and they gave me $112 for the system and some old games which could have been used to buy the New 3DS if I wanted to, but I already had the new one at that point. If you did the same thing you could probably get some good money for yours, too! I think the new system is pretty worth it if all you have owned is the really old 3DS. :)

Yeah, more reasons why you should upgrade if possible. The 3D on it is so much better than the original 3DS and it can read Amiibos without a needed NFC reader as well as faster processing power :)

Im sure nintendo is gonna make the transition into only releasing New 3DS Exclusive games eventually, so I would just go ahead and take the plunge. As well as everything listed above

OK! I buy it!

I'm glad you're getting it. ACNL looks great in 3d and the stabilizer is great. You'll love how it feels too. ^^

I'm loving it so far, and so is my husband. Between the both of us we have 3 of the New 3DS XL's haha. It's a lot faster than the old 3DS XL which is one of my favorite features. My husband likes the better 3D function, since it's a lot higher quality now. And then there's the amiibo capability that comes built in. Will be handy for Happy Home Designer

That's great! But 3 of them?? Wow, that's a lot... lol

I personally wouldn't buy it. A new handheld console will be unveiled by Nintendo next year along with a new home console. So I wouldn't spend money on a dying system just like I wouldn't adopt a 70 years old baby.

EDIT : Oops. Sorry I just read that you had bought the New 3DS XL. I hope you enjoy your new purchase.

What do you mean a new home and handheld console??? Are you talking about the NX??? We don't even know what that one is going to be for yet..... There's no other plans for new consoles by Nintendo rn

Also, they already purchased it, so more power to them. :)
