Should I add new characters to my town?

I hear you have to unlock the shops when you make an additional character for your town. Are there any other pros and cons? I'm thinking of adding a new character or two for house ideas and for storage/qr designs too.

Do you mean that you have to get more characters to unlock the shops? You don't. (Please correct me if I mis-understood you! )

I use them for paths. It's not the best when you have to switch to another player just beause your mayor accidentally deleted one when trying to pick something up or anything, but besides that it's great!
But I also needed them for more human peoples to fit my town themes. So the path/qr part was just a bonus!

I meant re unlock the shops when you use the new character, like someone I know made more than one character and they had to unlock the qr code machine again.
And what was the part about your mayor deleting something?

Like when you lay your paths down on the ground! Say you mayor goes to pick something up and accidentally kicks away a path square or something. You have to go back to your character with the paths and go from there. But only takes a minute to replace one part of a pat.

yes that's true if you want your other alt characters to be able to read qrs/hold paths/etc you will need to re unlock the qr machine with sable.

What do you mean? Are you saying that if you have the Emporium with your mayor and you make a new alt character you're going to have to re upgrade the shops again? Then, no. Where do you even hear these things.

No, you don't have to unlock any shops that I can recall with side characters. For example, I recently restarted a side character and was able to use Shampoodle from the start on that character.

The only things you need to unlock with them are specific services in shops that already exist, like talking to Sable to unlock the qr machine and buying coffees from Brewster to be able to work there.
