Should animals be used for entertainment purposes?

If an animal is not being abused or treated poorly and they're obviously happy, then it's okay in my opinion to use them for entertainment purposes. On the statement "animals should not be taken out of their natural habitats," I'm sorry but it's just how the world works. Humans tamper with nature and always will.

As long as they are not treated recklessly and cruelly.

I wouldn't want another PeTA campaign heading for these.

As long as the animals are treated as they should, then it's fine. It's like us humans. We like to entertain others, but only if we want to. If the animals aren't being abused, it's fine. It's fun to watch and at the end of the day, they get food and a place to live, like us.

The argument here is would they want to? Animals that are used for entertainment don't understand. They don't know what they are doing and why. That's why I think it's wrong, essentially they are forced to entertain people. When humans entertain other humans they know what they are doing. I'm not ok with circuses, I have no doubt animals are abused in those at least somewhat and I am absolutely against dogfighting or anything like that. Zoos are a different story as they provide education for humans about the animals they share the world with.

Honestly it depends ! Not all forms of animal entertainment are bad, and if anything, depending and how it is they're entertaining, it's just a fun training routine. Like In a dog show ! If anything those dogs need to be pampered and loved with an incredible dedication from their owner, so they're probably extremely happy ! But if it's like an animal circus or something (ESPECIALLY exotic), then the chances are those animals are living in terrible, unsuitable conditions, and are being abused by trainers and shouldn't be exploited as much as they are. It also depends on the animal, like there really are some that just should not attempted to be tamed, let alone trained for tricks. Like a Killer Whale. I mean it says killer in the name, let's be real here. And what tank really has room for a whale/really aggressive dolphin? (none that's the answer)

I had some long winded answer ready, but I realized there's absolutely no point.
I think that that animals should be used for entertainment purposes. Namely living in zoos, aquariums, on farms, and being pets. Any further than that is typically too far.

It really depends on the animals. While I don't agree with it overall, some like dogs, horses, mainly farm animals are domesticated and usually fine with human interaction, of course, they must be treated fairly as well.

However, wild animals that have to be captured, and then bred for entertainment don't belong and shouldn't be in captivity. Orcas, dolphins, sea lions, etc...animals that are used to having a wide ocean almost always go crazy in captivity.

Animals in good zoos are typically fine, and by good I mean they were born there, have a large exhibit, get plenty of exercise, and are treated exceptionally. The Woodland park zoo in Seattle where I live is a good example. It's really pretty there and all the animals have a lot of space. Plus, they teach you about being environmentally conscience.

Idc if animals are being trained for human entertainment because I'm a sucker for cute animals doing cute things. What I do care about is how (kinda different topic) some animals have to live in cages or small exhibits for the rest of their lives. The thought of being trapped in the same small area forever freaks me out so I feel bad for them. That's why I don't really like zoos.
