Shiny Pichu event

So,i sadly,can't get the shiny pichu from gamestop.So i was wondering if anybody knows if you can get any ordinary shiny pichu to activate the event,or does it only work with the ones from gamestop?Because i really want that nothced-eared pichu

I think it's not just any ordinary shiny pichu. The Secret Trainer ID associated with the Pichu is what's important in activating the event, from what I can see.

It's more than just the SID. It's the combination of the OT, ID, SID, Wonder Card, and more. You need to have that exact Pichu in order to activate the event.
