Share your stories of your villagers pinging you!

Poor Anicotti. She wanted to talk to me today so I rushed up to her, pressed A and whacked her with my net. Never did find out what she wanted.

This happened to me too often, but here’s how you get the ping back: stay in the building, then exit, then enter again, then exit again— the thought cloud will be back. You have to leave (any building) twice for it to trigger again though
Also, if they don’t have the cloud after exiting twice in a row, just talk to them. They’ll make the trade or ask for advice or do whatever the ping was about again. This has worked 100% for me, so it’s surely part of the game mechanics

The other day, I had Goldie try to ping me just as I entered into one of those conversations with two villagers at a time. By the time the conversation was over, Goldie had already left...

My favorite balloon-related mishaps are when the balloon is closer to the camera, so just as you walk into the door or you start talking to a villager, you just see the balloon take up the entire screen and slowly drift away. Like, thanks! I see it now!

Oh gosh, is that seriously how this works? Thank you so much for this tip. OTL

I had such an annoying experience a few days ago where I saw a villager with a thought bubble in the distance just as I walked into a building. When I walked out, he no longer had a thought bubble. I waited around a few minutes for the thought bubble, but it never came, so I just figured that it was gone for good, so I continued doing my thing. I walked into my house, exited, then walked into another house, and of course, as I was walking into another house, what do I see in the horizon? The same villager with a thought bubble. And of course, when I exited the bubble was gone again. It was truly a comedy of errors.

Thank you! That's really helpful, but my issue is what if they were suppose to give you a reaction! T__T;
I've experienced the when I go back out, the thought bubble is there, I'm just curious if its the reaction parts, since I want to collect them all. x'D

OMG. AWWW OH NOOO POOR GOLDIE.

OMG THE GAME IS JUST A MEME AT THAT POINT. 😩
I hate it when I'm near my waterfalls and the ballon is cruising by, obviously you hear it.. but its crashing with the sound of the waterfall... so... which is it.. xDDD

well a villager just pinged me and then said he forgot what he was gonna say and that was it lol.
has that happened to anyone else?

yesterday I was pretty sleepy while playing, and I stopped at my bridge and I guess I fell asleep for a few seconds. I wake up and see Nana doing the joy emotion in front of me and I was like "what the heck?" I thought I was seeing things at first but then when I talked to her, she just taught me the sad emotion lol

oh really? that's weird cause i just cleared out my inventory by selling some stuff before that happened.

Hm... I'm not sure what happened there, then.

I definitely know that the villagers forgetting what to say thing can happen if your inventory is full and they want to give things, or at least that's been the case every time I've gotten that dialogue. It might be an extreme coincidence, but I've seen other folks mention this scenario, too. Maybe... the opposite happened where they wanted to buy something from you, but you didn't have anything they could buy? I've got nothing.

I don't understand why the game would pick a "conversation topic" without figuring out if that topic is even possible or not, but, ah well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

the amount of times i’ve seen a balloon or a thought bubble right as i’m entering a building is just,, unreal lmao

Happened to me before, they pinged me when I was about to go in the building and when I accidentally hit them with a net they stopped and I felt bad.
