Really sorry if this isn't the place to be talking about bugs but here I go anywayyyyyyy...

So I started up my game for the first time in about a year so obviously my characters hair was a mess, so I did a few tasks and went to shampoodle for a haircut. I sat down in the chair, went through about two dialogue screens and my DS crashed and displayed the default *Nameless error: contact Nintendo for more information* screen. It was annoying the first time but after many attempts I've found that after spending about 15 seconds in Harriet's shop my game will crash regardless of if I'm getting a haircut or just standing there.

I have been to every other shop and there has been no problem. I have verified my files, I have tried to use another character, I have gone to shampoodle in a friends town; but no matter what I do I still crash.
However, the game will not crash if I save and continue every few seconds or if I exit the shop before the crash. The haircut dialogue takes way too long though so I can't avoid the crash. It feels very bizarre that this only occurs in shampoodle... there must be some sort of looping calculation or a glitchy counter only used by shapoodle
:(

Does anyone have any idea of a way to fix this weird issue or will I be ugly forever Q_Q?

Hey! Is your game digital?

- - - Post Merge - - -

Also, did you try visiting Shampoodle in another town?

Did you update your game? Maybe if you haven't then it'll fix. What about deleting the update?

Yes my game is digital, I knew I forgot to mention something in the original post. :P
And yes using shampoodle in a friends town results in a game crash for me but not them.

Sadly I've already used this tool and it did not repair my problem. But thanks for your help regardless!

Even with redownloading the entire game? If so, it's weird... The problem would either come from the update, your save file or your 3DS then. :(
