Hello everybody!
I reset my town yesterday, and I might cut every tree down in order to lay my path down. Shall I do this? I'm not sure... Has anyone else done this? xD haha :p

I usually just start laying and cut as I need when I run into trees. But I can see the advantage of having a cleared path so do what you think is best. I usually try to work around the bulk of them because I like the naturally occurring trees because they aren't all in a set pattern. That might just be me though.

I also suggest this, because once you lay them down, reforesting your town will be a real pain, unless you transfered a golden shovel and lots obf bells. Normal sapplings are a pain to acquire! I recently lost my only golden shovel while transfering it from my 2 towns
(I have no idea how it happened) and getting sapplings the normal way is getting really frustrating

I tried to avoid cutting down trees because I felt bad cutting them down but they were just so in the way so I chopped them all down.

I cut down all of them. Not just to lay my paths down, but to plan everything else. I had been storing saplings so that I could plant them where I wanted when I was ready to.

And to make my forest section of town look more like a forest, I've been planting bamboo and letting it grow randomly with the intention to cut them down later and replace them with trees.

I wouldn?t cut all of the trees, only those that get in the way for sure, and blocking my paths. But if you`re aiming for a very organized town, then it might be the best way to do it.

I usually plant a string of trees along the train tracks where I know I won't put paths so my town isn't entirely bare, but for the most part I do cut down all other trees and replant later. Making a town takes a lot of time and planning and even if it looks like it might be out of the way, once you start landscaping you may find it to be a hindrance and chop it down anyway. It's not that hard to collect tree saplings especially if you collect both cedar and regular saplings. Lief sells one a day, and if you include fruit trees in a month your town won't be bare anymore. It makes it easier if you cut down a majority, but it depends on how in depth your planning goes.

I usually cut them all down. It's easier to envision where everything will go if the trees aren't blocking everything. Like people said, just use a gold shovel and 1k bells to replant any trees.

Hmm, it depends actually :/ I usually don't. I try to make the layout first then chop.

I cut all mine down for formatting purposes, and I'm a procrastinator so I still haven't replanted, haha. Even though my town is totally bare, I actually kind of love it.

But buying the tons of axes needed kind of wasn't worth it (I did this really early on in the game, mind you, didn't have the golden one at the time : P) and my sapling collection is getting a bit ridiculous, so if that's not your thing I wouldn't go for it.

(But at least no cicada noises and really easy hide and seek... ;D)

I cut down most of them and plant trees next to the river and the edges of my town so there won't be a bunch of trees in my way.
