Settling down villagers

I have spots marked where I want villager to move in (control freak, I know XD) but placing down paths seems so tedious but plot resetting is even worse to me. What do you guys do when you want villagers to move into specific locations? Do you place qr paths everywhere or every 2-3 plots?

i put a qr down every two slots (bc the villager needs a 3 x 3), and i cover almost all my town expect one or two places where i'm chill with them plotting...
usually my town looks like this right before i plot reset (hypothetically, ofc, as if i had no trees or flowers or pwps covering my ground):

yikes that's super ugly lmao but you can see where i left a 3 x 3 place, and the rest of the rows alternate between having nothing on them or having a pattern every two spots

ooh jk i lied, the rest of the space in my town (besides the 3 x 3 place) alternates between two empty rows and a row with patterns every two places :')

if you look carefully at the setup, even when i have two rows of nothing, my patterns fully block any 3 x 3 sections from developing
