Seriously, non-fruit trees?

I found 10 beehives
How is that possible

I have been tripping up so it could be bad luck...
I play daily, and usually miss the bees and shake the trees.

It would probably the bad luck. You can always open up your gates and there will be no bees when you shake your trees. Or you can talk to Isabelle about building a new Public works Project. No bees will show up if she is following you around town, and after you're done shaking you can quit out of the project.
