I wanna sell my old town and while i've scoured the internet and found answers for most of my questions I still have one question unanswered, if I don't like the villagers in my new town can I soft reset without loosing the bells from my previous town? I have amiibo cards to get my favorite villagers back but the one i'm worried about is Ankha since I have no other way of getting her back.

So that's my question. Can I sell my village and reset without loosing the bells if I don't like my villagers?

If you choose to sell your town, your bells will go to the new town. But if you don't like any of the maps or villagers provided, you'll have to go through the selling process again until you find a map and villagers you like. I think Ankha's a fairly common starter since I always seem to get her, if not, someone here can get her for you.

AAAA THANK YOU!

I knew I could reset no problem if I didn't like the layouts but I wasn't sure if it extended to the villagers! I don't mind having to start the process over. Again, thank you!

Actually how common starters are seem to vary from cart to cart. One I kept getting Merengue and on another I have yet to see her, and instead constantly see Drago.

You can always use the villager trading plaza on this forum to get Ankha! You'll need to post a bit on here to get some TBT, but it's pretty easy to get the popular villagers on there. I personally never really understood why people are so concerned with their starting villagers? They can move out pretty quickly. Honestly I wish Agent S wasn't one of my starting villagers because I would love it if her house could be someplace different. But however anyone plays the game makes them happy, so who am I to judge?

Anyway like Ably.Saucey said you can turn off the power to reset, though you have to go through the rigmarole of selling your town again. Be sure that you don't accidentally just delete your town though! I had a friend who did that, she was so upset.

Maybe because having one of them as a starter makes it one less they have to worry about later.

I wouldn't be too picky about the starting villagers because villagers move in and out all the time. Some faster than others but villagers aren't permanent unless you want them to be.

It's a very risky procedure, because if you plant the town tree you won't be able to sell it again until you have played for 50 days and 50 hours. So I wouldn't worry about who are the villagers and rather focus on the map, perfect fruit, etc, as all villagers can be bought easily here with TBT. :)

You know, I keep getting Knox on one cartridge and some mouse on the other, that's weird how that is.
I've never thought about it before.

Focus on the map you like first, and worry about the villagers later. I usually don't begin too much decoration in my town until I get unwanted villagers out and plot reset the villagers I want.
