Hey! So I've ended up with a TON of spare DIYs - so much that I've stopped keeping track of them... I'd like to get rid of them but it seems like a waste to sell them to the shop so I had an idea and wasn't sure if it was a good one...
If I wrapped all the recipes I had and had a "DIY Mystery Sale" where you could buy one bag for 5-10 TBT (Haven't decided on price exactly) would anyone be interested? Is this a terrible idea?
I wanted a way to sell them without having to list them out and then go find them to give to who buys them and this seemed like the best way...

hmm I would personally prefer to pay for a DIY where I knew what I was getting,
since there's no point to me in receiving an unknown DIY..
maybe you could charge an entree price, and let people take 2 DIY or something out of the pile? ^-^

I've done a pay what you want before and just laid out all of my diys in an area and people could pay what they want. The people here are great and I haven't had any issues but you can always check for feedback before letting them onto your island.

Maybe I'll try it where I just charge an entry fee and let people take a few! That would be even easier then wrapping them all up~ It just seems like such a huge waste to sell them to Nook's...

i used to keep all of the DIY and gave em to blueming cataloging but her thread closed. I'm not too sure if there much interest for DIYs. If you come across crown and wreath ones you should def keep em. :)

I hope the DIY mystery thing works out.

I’ve never been interested in DIY mystery stuff because I have most already. However, it’s really cute to have a take one leave one or a free DIY stand!
(Or at least it was cute for me until I stored them all in my recycling bin because I want more Lily-of-the-Valleys)

See I like this idea when I've seen it but I need them gone because they're taking up so much room - I have a huge area full of them plus my entire basement and I don't have people over often enough for any of them to get taken...

I think I have a few flower related ones in the pile at this point!

I don't think I'd really be interested in it just because I'd want to buy a recipe that I don't have yet!

yeah honestly, I just put mine out when I know I'm going to be doing some trades the next few days, and I just let people take whatever. After a while I sell the ones that no one takes, selling them to nook seems a bit like a waste maybe but I think the demand for common DIY's just isn't there. but if you have so many hosting a 'take what you want, tips appreciated' would be very nice!

also, yes save the flower, the gold and the iron wood ones, those always have demand so you can sell them ^-^

I put all mine out for taking when I do trades now. I attempted giving them away at one point but soon discovered the more common DIYs are really hard to get rid of- even if you’re not charging!
A lot of people may not like a grab bag event just because of the probability of getting something they already have as well
Just some advice from personal experience! ^^
