Second town question

Hi guys,

So I finally caved and bought a second NL cartridge... the idea to keep my original town to play legit and to have a second town for cycling and general TT-ing.

Will I need a second 3DS also? I *think* I am able to play both towns on my 3DS, but if I need to trade between the two, can I put my game cart temporarily in my Son's 2DS to do that (he already owns his own copy also), or will it corrupt?

I have googled and searched and found lots of conflicting info... some people saying you can switch the cart between 3DS's without problem, others are saying that it links to your FC so you can't just swap consoles...

Can anybody please help? Do I really need a new console to connect with my new cart? And if I decide not to connect, can I play them both on one console? I am weighing up my options right now... How does it all work please?

I use my Xl and my brothers Xl for my two towns. When I swap the cartridges it doesn't corrupt

I change both of my copies between my 3DS and my bf's 3DS with no problems whatsoever (-:

You can definitely play them both on one DS (I have three towns and one DS), and you can use another person's DS to load up one of your games without impacting theirs. The only issue would be if you TT on the other person's system. Using the internal clock rather than the in-game clock can impact the other game.

Fantastic, thanks! I am guessing it will be okay, as long as I make sure I set the clock back when I'm done? My son never TT's so we won't lose track of what time he is on or anything... thanks for the advice!

I didn't know you could swap cartridges between DS's without issue, that's helpful .
