So I have finally caved in to making a second character (side character). I was not originally going to do this but due to the lack of path space I have no choice!

I was wondering what you guys have done for your second characters? Have you made their houses into some sort of hotel/cafe etc? Or left it as a tent and have it by the campsite?

I am a bit stuck on what to do with him/her.

I also do not know what to name him/her!

Any ideas?

My 2nd character has a Christmas/winter themed house. Her name is Emma (because I love that name). I dressed her up as Elsa from Frozen to fit the theme :)
For names, if you don't go with a theme you could look up name generators. There's a lot of them out there, they might help you find something you might like.

I had no idea what to make them and it felt so weird to have characters in my (dream)town who aren't really present in my town. So I deleted them and named the new ones the same as my mayor and gave them the same look. Of course that is also weird cause in the dream town there are 4 Rubys now but whatever, at least no random people. xD
I see all houses as my houses, the mayor house is a regular cozy house to live in,
the 2. is a castle with all the fancy furniture sets and has a fairytale feeling and a big garden,
the 3. will be a cute caf? in the park with a nature theme and indoor gardens and
the 4. with probably be a beach house with a summer and ocean theme and a personal aquarium. But I'm not entirely sure about that one yet. My other idea is a community center with an arcade and a theatre and a restaurant.

my second character is named Lucricia. she owns a gardening shop and has a maze in the back of her house and a tulip topiary right next to it.

I usually make my side chars somehow relevant to the town and it's theme.

For an example I have a farmer and a princess/queen in Tricera as side characters. I was planning to have the farmers house be somewhat of a barn and a farmer's house combined and the princess/queen would have had a royal house. Unfortunately I have yet to design the interior but Ill get to it eventually. In Apocalia I have a hospital, an abandoned house and a casino. Haven't designed the interior there yet either, but ye.

You can also just leave them as tents if you want to use them as nothing but path space or just design their houses and them in a themeless way.

I have 2 side characters one has my paths and the other i made for plot resseting Lolly's house i decided to keep both and im thinking of having all they're rooms with strictly furniture sets wether its a rare set or common I mainly want the outside of both their houses to look zen since that's the theme of my town im now in the process of expanding both houses c:

everybody should have at least 2 side characters imo, so you can get extra items from the events and holidays.

plus, that extra storage space!!

All my side players have full house and most of them play with the villagers. I rotate them so one plays one day and the other the next.
I have the following.
Holiday house with all the Event items
My Grandmother House with Items she would love.
My Daughter House with items she likes.
A Campus College House with a dorm, library and a 7-11.
A Bug/Fish Off, Pacal, Island and Weeding Day House.
An all Gracie House.
Last year I added my first boy player and his house is my favorite. Gorgeous, Golden, Library/Office/TV Room and Exotic in the Front Room.

None carry pathways but they all have tasks that they do. I placed my first extra player by the docks so she could go to the island once the mayor was done for the day. She caught all the bugs early on, sold them and left the bells for the mayor to pick up.
The other player is close to the train station or near retail for visitor. They can use the ABM when they sell all the turnip or fruit.
That player can run to the train station to do drops for my other town.

I made Paisley's house into a hotel.

The first room has the gorgeous series, which is obviously the lobby.
The upstairs has the Gracie series, which is a room.
The basement has a washer/dryer, and other things that make it look like a laundry room.
The back room is kind of like an employee lounge (I had no idea what else to do for it :p) with the sloppy series (except for the sloppy bed)
The side room to the left is the dining room, which has 2 sweets couches, and other cafe-like things.
The side room to the right is the bathroom, with a bathroom stall, shower, etc.

My Joy towns mayor is a Halloween witch. One day, I decided to make a Snow White character. It was so much fun decorating her house with the dwarves, and evil queen. That led to a Cinderella castle and later a North pole area with an elf named Noel. I later realized that my town had all four seasons with each character living in a different one.

My second character is my drag alter ego (lol). But I think alter egos are a great idea for second characters, whether it's your evil twin, genderbent version of you, ect.

Mine were easy, because all three of my towns are themed.

For AHS, the mayor and three residents are characters from each of the first four seasons of "American Horror Story," and their rooms are decorated accordingly.
For Goblin, the mayor and three extra residents are characters from "Labyrinth."

For Ruddyoak, which is partly J.R.R. Tolkien-themed, the three extra residents are various characters from "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings," and their houses are decorated either how they are described in the book(s), or how I imagined they would be. I was only going to have two, but then I got an idea for the third...

I only actually play the game as my mayors, unless I am currently working on one of the side character's homes or whatnot. They don't interact with the villagers. That way, my villagers never complain, "Why hasn't _____ come to see me lately?" My mayors, however, are the villagers' best friends. ;)

i'd like a side character, for the simple fact of more storage space & extra event items, but my town is very tiny and i would have no where to put a tent

plus going through the whole starting off process is tiring, but maybe one day i'll get up the motivation to do it

My 2 side characters are based on my 2 main OCs and their houses are themed in a way that I feel fits that particular character.

I don't really play on them except when laying paths or decorating the houses, but I do make sure they're dressed up nicely and stuff.
