Hello! I just joined a few days but I've been lurking mostly ahaha. ;w;
I was hoping for some help with planning a nautical/seaside/port town? I have some ideas but they're not much. Any dream address links to others like this, or any qr codes that'd help would be much appreciated! <3

So far I'm thinking:
-Mayor's house to have a basement cafe using mostly the fish series.
-Second character's house to have a surf shack type theme.
-Third house to be a witch's shop, based on the webcomic, The Mermaid and the Sailor, by Miraongchua (deviantART).
-Blue, red and white flowers only. White azalea, blue hydrangea and red hibiscus bushes.
-Native fruit is peaches, so rows of peach and perfect peach trees, but maybe also the island fruit and oranges.
-Fairy tale PWPs, not sure on any others at the moment.
-Villagers aren't really too important, but I'll be redecorating their homes and changing their outfits to fit various nautical themes. At the moment I have Diana and Julian who I'd like to keep, but that's it!

If there's anything else anyone can think of I'd be super grateful! ;o;

Sounds like a great idea! Have you an idea of the kind of furniture sets you'd like to use? Cabana set?

As for villagers, I heartily recommend Keaton.

Not only does he appear to be a tropical bird, but his house is very seaside-themed!

scartwright: Keaton and O'Hare are two I'd definitely like to consider, as well as the octopi! However I'm not too fussy with villagers, it's the town itself that I really want to push.

As for furniture sets, definitely mermaid, zodiac (not the Chinese one), some of Gulliver's stuff, pirate, cabana...there's some other complimenting sets too like the stripe set, rococo and regal, as well as possibly the princess series for it's blue scheme. Everything else will probably be varied about the houses depending on the room!

Sounds like a cool idea for a town :), I'd recommend using some things from the Island like cabana furniture, tropical wall/floor, life ring, surf board, treasure chest. Also maybe use shells to decorate the beach ramps, I've done this in my town.

(totally jumping into the thread without reading prior replies, so apologies if I'm repeating anything that's already been said!)

First - let me just like, bow down to you for coming up with / doing this theme for your town, and let me also beg shamelessly for your dream address so I can visit once it's finished...? Haha. I love oceanic/nautical type things so this is like... my absolute weakness. It sounds so amazing.

Second - If you want the villagers themselves to be all ocean-y there are obviously the octopus ones to consider, but they're also fairly expensive as I think they're more highly sought after. If you just want to load up the town with your dreamies and redecorate their homes and give them different outfits as you said, that works too! Just thinking out loud. (What type of outfits were you thinking of, by the way? There are simple sailor shirt designs, but things like overalls and the like could work for people who "work" down at the docks, and whatnot)

Third - Perfect choice of colors for flowers. Seriously perfect. Bless.

Fourth - maybe grab the fire pit from a jock villager and place it somewhere close to one of your beaches...? I'm not sure if you're going for a more polished and modern seaside town vibe or something a little rougher around the edges - that could definitely make a difference.

The only other thing I'd say is to be careful not to overcrowd your beach with the island fruits, because bananas and coconuts are totally great and fit the theme, but walking on your beaches will be a nightmare if you have to weave through tons of trees to do it, since the strips of beach aren't very wide to begin with.

I'm so looking forward to seeing what you do with this, you don't even knooowwww ♥

I was thinking of doing a nautical themed town! I'll be lurking here too. I guess my suggestion would be to find some good water qrs. Caroline has a good tropical house too and she was originally an island villager back in GC days.

What a neat idea! I'd love to visit/dream of your town when you have it all set up.

As far as public works projects, the lighthouse is an obvious choice to use. I like the idea of the fire pit as well. You can set up a hammock too, for those sailors shirking work! Perhaps a bell to warn the townspeople of incoming ships... and a picnic blanket, just because. I do love that PWP. Maybe a Moai statue thrown in for kicks, haha.

Good flowers would be Blue and Yellow!
Also think about Rod he's is a little mouse and his house is pirate themed and he kind of looks like one to. :blush:

The mule character house next to my mayor in TorgoBay is beach/mermaid/water/pascal/mishmash themed. It's not complete, but pretty darn close. It uses almost all island, pascal, fishing tourney, bug off, mermaid, and weeding day items. I am too lazy to take and post pictures, so feel free to check out my DA (in my profile) if you want to check it out.

Wow, your idea is super creative! I def recommend Rod and Keaton as villagers (?∀`●)

Caroline is also a really good choice for your town. The inside of her house is themed like a beach and it even has a volleyball net (▰˘◡˘▰)

You also might want to think about Vic, who also has a pirate theme for his house. He's kind of a Viking bull. :)

I'm sorry for the late reply to everyone, I've been out of town over the weekend!

Oh my gosh thank you so much, this has given me a massive motivation boost to work on the town!! Currently it's still in very early days as I just go along and try to unlock everything but once I get the landscaping going I'll definitely post my progress and even wip dream codes for feedback and whatnot!

As for everyone else who offered pwp and villager suggestions, it's all very much appreciated and I'm going to come back and reference from here a lot. I'm still looking for as much input as possible at this stage, so thank you all!!
