Scorpions

I’ve seen one or two on my island. Definitely feeling the nerf in spawn rates, considering how often I’ve played at night recently.

I've seen two on my island so far. One I caught, but the other ran behind a villager's house and buried itself in the ground. I usually go to a mystery island to catch them.

I think I've run into 4 of them on my island, I've caught 2 of them. Donated the first one and I kept the other one so I can get a scorpion figure from Flick!
Do you need 3 of them for the figure?

I'm not sure how much of a factor it is, but I don't have a lot of 'open' space on my island which is probably making it harder for me to run into one.

Haven't seen one on my island yet but I'm hoping to play for a few hours this evening to get one for my museum!

Never seen one. I might go on island tours today and hopefully i am gonna catch one at least, for the museum.

I've only seen one on my home screen about to attack Whitney... otherwise nope haven't seen any :(
I knew they were rare but man... It's been a week since they've been out and I haven't been able to catch any...

Edit: Just saved Raymond from one! :)

I get at least 2 a night, sometimes more. The 1st night they were out I had a total of 5..

As I said in a different topic, Scorpions have a 2% spawn rate as of the most recent patch on any tile that can spawn them on your island according to dataminers. You're competing with other bugs in the acre, but on your home island, that's the rate you're looking at. That's a 1/50 chance of seeing one at any given times, so just keep going in and out buildings until you get one.

I’ve never seen a scorpion on my island yet, but I caught one from the artificial scorpion NMT island I made.

I ran around my island one night, scaring off the other bugs until I eventually found one. That was on the 5th. It's the only one I've seen this month. But I also don't play the game super late for long like I was last month. Nintendo also nerfed the spawn rate for scorpions and tarantulas, so it will be more difficult for you to find one. But if you run around for a little while, scaring away/catching all the other bugs, you should come across one eventually!

Tens minutes in I caught one at 135am May 1st. It appeared and ran to the red pansies to hide. I couldn't see it but I swung the net and caught it. I've seen 4 more this week but they took me out. I was stalking and was too close to the scorpion. It jumped and took me out.

2nd island caught one on May 5th around 230am. I saw ones before but most jumped into the river or disappeared as soon as I took out the net.

For anyone trying to do the Tarantula Island trick, you will get best results on Bamboo Islands in the Rain.

Bamboo Islands have no rivers, so no Water Bugs, and rain prevents Tiger Beetles from spawning.

You still get Wharf Roaches and Mole Crickets, but there is much less to deal with.

Scorpions are the last thing on my catch list (for the month) and been hunting every night for it. But everytime I see one, it's a little too late and it's already out to get me. It loves to hide in shrubs or trees and it's always ready to ambush me.

I also hate that it only appears when I'm not holding my net. But when I'm running around with my net, it doesn't even spawn... My game hates me.

I feel like I've managed to see at least one a day on my island. I wasn't even actively looking for it when I managed to grab it at the beginning of May, lol.
