Bangalore: Scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) are on the brink of a path-breaking discovery. They may have found signs of life in some form or the other on the Moon.

They believe so because scientific instruments on India's first unmanned lunar mission, Chandrayaan-1, picked up signatures of organic matter on parts of the Moon's surface, Surendra Pal, associate director, Isro Satellite Centre (Isac), said at the international radar symposium here on Friday.

Organic matter consists of organic compounds, which consists of carbon -- the building block of life.

It indicates the formation of life or decay of a once-living matter.

Pal said the signatures were relayed back to the Bylalu deep space network station near Bangalore by the mass spectrometer on board the Indian payload, the moon impact probe (MIP), on November 14, 2008...

Of course, it's not official but it's possible.

On an off-topic note, I've been posting a lot of news articles here on TBT lately 0_0

Kind of old. A while ago, when they found water, they found some alien form of bacteria on the moon.

It's a bit obvious that life would probably be on the moon seeing as the moon was created from the Earth.

It was?
A looooooong time ago, like a few billion years ago, while the Earth was in its molten state, a huge meteoroid collided with it, breaking off a chunk. That became a satellite to the Earth and is now known as the moon.

Well we also know that they found frozen ice on Mars which may lead to some life on their.

Face it, there is life everywhere, Even in my toilet.

I can't wait until the day they find life on any other planet/moon. Hopefully I will still be alive to see it happen!

Its called bacteria.

Fly me to the moon, and let me play among the staaa~rs! ♪

Very interesting~ Can't wait to hear more on this sort of thing.

The moon is made up off fragments off earth that have been launched off by meteor strikes and meteorites that collide in outerspace.
Hence carbon on the moon.
I just owned scientists.

Doesn't life need air?
sry fpr dble post

No, but most lifeforms use oxygen to power blood through the body.

Carbon requires no Oxygen, it is an element.
But as said above, its just carbon based rocks...
