Scaly Friends(Herps and Repts)

I'm deathly afraid of bigger snakes and lizards/geckos of all kind, but one day I'd like to get a smaller snake. They seem nice.

Just about every smaller snake I've met has been a complete sweetie. I've only met one boa constrictor and she was huge, heavy, but the sweetest gal ever, but she was an ambassador so that was her job and she'd been handled all her life. Any pet snake can be aggressive but it's with proper treatment and handling that they learn to trust humans. If you want a smaller snake cornsnakes are super cute and easy to care for, and they actually get to a nice size once they stop being pencils. XD My friend's brother had a pink cornsnake named Rosie and she loved curling up in people's hair and was such a cuddler.

i'd love to own a hognose one day.
and also a bearded dragon omg. so cute.

I've always wanted a red-eared slider (it's a turtle) but it seems like it'd be a lot of effort to take care of it. They're semi-aquatic, so they'd need a tank with both a water part to swim in and then a land/rock area to hang out on too. They also need a heat lamp in their tank to help them regulate their temperature. Plus it would be more expensive than my cockatiel (a parrot) to feed, since they need a mix of protein (things like crickets and mealworms) and veggies. :/

wow i want a snake now thanks to this thread o.o

milk snakes are pretty cute but so are king snakes...

OMG he is BEAUTIFUL! I'm biased because I voted for the blue eyes :D Congrats!

They make nice pets though if cared for correctly I just see so many people cramming them in tiny little fishtanks and its super sad.

He's sooo beautiful! Congrats on being a proud snake parent! (lmao I'm so sorry for saying that)

I don't think I've ever seen a pure white snake. He's very pretty! :)

Also, I swear that every time I see this thread, I read the word as "Herpes." :o LOL

Oh nice! I'm on my way to becoming a herpetologist. Reptiles are the best!

If I get another snake (which I probably will eventually because people say you can't have just one>.<) then I will get a pure black milk snake because they are freaking magical looking as well.

ALSO Snoodle update, I got his food in the mail today and hid it from my mom thankfully without her noticing, hopefully she doesn't notice before he gets here cause I don't want her to get mad before I even get him XD But I've also set up his tub for a test run and everything seems to be working fine, it was a bit cooler than I need it to be but I did have my windows open and stuff, and the humidity was a bit too high as well so I have to make some more holes in it before he gets here in a few days, but Monday night I am going to get it set-up and turned on so when he shows up Tuesday I can get him in as fast as possible. AND I am definitely going to be posting some pictures of when I un-box him, might do a video, don't know yet. But yes, it's SO CLOSE!
