How does the saving trick to get pwps work?
I know you save&quit, walk around town and some should ping you.
Do you have to talk to the villagers first? Are there any things I need to do?

I didn't know it at first either and read about it a few days ago. I've tried it multiple times with success now, and the only thing you need to do is save & quit and then start up again and walk around town. No need to talk or anything. There is (almost) always one villager (that is walking outside) that'll ping you, but it's random which so you have to walk by every one of them.

Okay, thanks!

No, that is pretty much it. No need to talk to anybody first, as long as at some point within the last week you have spoken to them, then any one of them are capable of pinging you. The only time they can't ping is if you don't talk to them for more than a week.

I can't seem to get any pings
I've definitely walked in front of ever villager out and ive tried it about 10 times now.

Try the diving trick instead then. The diving trick worked much better for me than the save&continue trick.

Does anyone know if it's true that the saving trick works only if a villager is planning on moving out? I've never tried this trick myself but I recall I might have read something like that. Not at all sure though because it's been a long while since I read anything about it at all, but I thought I'd ask anyway. :d

(by the way, now that I'm trying it out, it's not working for me either)

Might be the case, but I don't see why it would have anything to do with it. I have done it successfully just the way I described, but I did have Blaire moving out recently and now Melba is planning on moving out as well.

With the diving trick, you have to wait five minutes in between each ping or the villagers won't be ready to ping you. I recommend loading the game and checking for pings, saving, changing the clock forward 5 minutes and then reloading. It makes sense in my brain but I don't know if it would work.

Alright I'll try that!

I am currently using the diving trick but it takes so long and I thought that the saving trick would be faster.
