saving in your house/bed?

My character never sleeps, he just idles outside in the rain until Isabelle interrupts the meditation with the morning news

lol yes this is what i end up doing most of the time!! i’m so glad the switch is better about battery and auto saving than previous games so this is a lot safer

Reminds me of a harvest moon / story of seasons vibe where you had to write in your diary to save & then your character would hop into bed. That’s so cute of your mom! I guess I’m just so use to having the luxury of saving whenever & wherever that I take full advantage of it.

hello! my mom recently told me she goes home and gets into her bed to save every time she plays. i find this really cute, and i’ve heard a few similar stories around the internet. does anyone else go home to save or know someone who does?

I do this! I guess it feels like a ritual of some sort. I know I can save and exit anywhere, but I like the buy in to the reality of the game that comes from saving and quitting in my bed!

I not only have to put my character to bed every night before I save and turn the game off, I also have to go around the house and make sure all the lights are turned off, shut off the fireplace, TV, and anything else that's running, and extinguish any of the candles that are burning before I put my character in her PJs and put her to bed. It's like a ritual and it would drive me crazy if I shut the game off without doing it. I would feel as if something was left undone and eventually I'd have to turn the game back on, do everything right, and then shut it back off again before I could relax for my own evening.

I usually do this when I'm done playing. Brings me back to the Gamecube days when you would talk to your gyroid to save. Plus I'd rather have my character inside than to be passed out in the rain.

I sometimes save and quit after doing a greeting emote to one of my villagers. It's like saying that you're done for the day and see them tomorrow to start a new day.

I’m horrible at any kind of routine with ending the game for the day— mostly just wherever I am be it shop, museum or random cliff side, I’ll just save and end haha. It’d be fun if this was an option as another way to end the game though!

At the beginning I did. But now I tend to save wherever I am, but I think that’s mostly because my house is currently at the top of my map, I haven’t put inclines there yet so it’s more effort to ladder up just to save. Wish I could leave my ladder there!
