IK this isn't a thing atm for NH, but does anyone know when it will be? I wanna get my own switch lite and though that may take several months of money-saving... I kinda want to have Sos Island on it -

Also, I have a wee bit of a problem that ... relates to... fortnite *cringe inwardly*. My incredibly annoying younger brother decided to make his fornite account using my Nintendo account bc he doesn't have his own. So now all his freakin fortnite save data is linked to it and there's no way to transfer THAT data to a different nintendo account. My problem here is that if I got my own switch then of course I'll use my own Nintendo account, ESPECIALLY if save data transfers are available at that time. BUT. You CAN'T use the same Nintendo account at the same time... so.. I couldn't play Animal Crossing when my brother is playing fortnite, which would COMPLETELY defeat the purpose of getting my own switch. My question is... uh... should I force my brother to get his own freakin nintendo account and use my own for my future switch, OR get my own new account? It'd be incredibly annoying for me to create a new one cuz IT'S MY ACCOUNT I DON'T CARE AB FORTNITE sorry that's not 100% animal crossing related lol

I thought this was already a thing with the data backup. Is that only for the specific Switch the game was set up with?

I guess you should do whatever makes it easier for you? If you're planning on using your Lite exclusively and don't have a lot of stuff on your Nintendo account it might make sense to just start a new one and change yours to be your brother's. Otherwise he could get a new account of his own, especially if he doesn't have a lot of stuff on his save. I don't know if Fortnite has any options to transfer saves but since so many people playing are probably kids, siblings, etc. they might do that if you get in touch with support.

I don't think it's based on the Switch you're using but on your Nintendo account, so if you get a new Switch you'd still have to use your Nintendo account on the new one to recover your saves.

Oh, well wouldn't that be sort of close to transferring the save file?

Ask your brother (or if he's young research online) if you can transfer fortnite data to another Nintendo account. Maybe you could even talk to customer support. Since ACNH is a new game and fortnite (I think?) is older it most likely has a more developed saved file transferring stuff associated with it than ACNH.

So basically, find out if you can transfer saved fortnite data from your account to your brother's own account.

It's absurd that we need a whole new console for each game.

You should be able to load your cart on any switch and play it.

Utterly ridiculous.

thanks, I'll try this, though I think my older brother said that's not possible, but hey anything's possible soo wtf :P it wouldn't make sense because it's his own fortnite account and idk why he couldn't have all his save data if he linked the fortnite account to a different switch account :P really dumb if it worked that way but idk lol
Also fortnite came out in 2k17 soo yeah
thx again lol ~~

I aGREE :C INcredibly annoying... one time my older brother (who has his own switch) downloaded one of his games on his switch account onto our switch, and none of the other users could use the game bc he was the one who bought it (on a different switch) AND I couldn't play it when he was playing, which is like all the time lol. Sorry if my sentence is confusing oof -

I'll probably have to contact customer support yeah. : P Maaaybe I wouldn't mind resetting my island if I got a new switch, but I'm like emotionally attached to all of my villagers (lol) and if save data transfers were a thing at that time then of course i'd be simping to get my old island back haha. In the end it comes down to which is more important: My brother's lvl 80 fortnite account or MY game on MY nintendo account. sorry im a little salty ab this XD Thx for the ideas

Just tell your brother Fortnite isn't cool anymore, and that you're doing him a favor by deleting it. Problem solved.

my friend got a new switch and transferred her data. her switch lite wasn’t even broken. she did mention that the process was stressful, though.
