Save Data Transfer Tool?

Just wondering if anyone has used the Save Data Transfer tool to swap their ACNL Town from a physical cartridge to a digital copy and if so how it worked?

I've done it before. It literally transfers the save data (like the entire town) from physical to digital copy. The data from physical will be wiped out. You cannot do it the other way around though (digital to physical).

Actually you can transfer a digital copy to a physical copy using a new Welcome Amiibo labeled cartridge.

It has to say Welcome Amiibo on the cartridge and will take your digital town - or a physical town cartridge that may be very old or slightly damaged - and will take the town data and put it on the new Welcome Amiibo cartridge.
