I was thinking that it would be great if say for example two Eagle type villagers was on your island, such as Celia and Apollo. And they both got along well with each other.

One of them could decide to move into either one of their homes. Whilst doing so would upgrade one of their houses to be bigger. And the other turned into a vacant plot.

If you don't want them to live together anymore. You can speak to Isabelle to separate the couple, if there's a vacant plot open again. That way then you can have twice the amount of villager living on your island. Plus if you have Amiibo cards. You can also choose the same type of species of opposite gender to move into one by force.

Its just that this idea came to my head a long time ago. When the wedding event was happening. As some of my villagers was commenting on how romantic it would be if they could have a wedding.

Also another idea to add is children villagers. Because we've got toys, decoration, walls and flooring related stuff. The villager children could be riding on a tricycle around the island, playing in the sandpit, playground gym etc. Even new quests about the parent villager hasn't seen their child villager. And you have to search around your island for them. So they can be told that their parent is worried about where they are. Even fun and games quest related activities as well to do.

The children villagers could be random ones that are added to the game. If depends on which couple married who. So like Apollo and Celia would have a specific child villager. Buzz and Celia would have a completely different child villager and so on as different sets.

I love the idea of villagers forming couples, in fact I kinda started structuring my island so that there's two of each species (Bunnie & Genji, Reneigh & Savannah, etc.)

On the other hand, having in-depth relationship features added to the game could get kinda weird as some villager personalities imply a much older age than other villager personalities. Like crankies are basically grandpas, while lazies are very childlike.. combine the two and it's a questionable dynamic if it goes beyond friendship

But perhaps I am taking it too seriously. At the very least it would be nice if platonic relationships in ACNH had way more depth to them

Think that would make Animal Crossing feel kind of Sims like, which I don't care for.

As for children villagers, we do have Cubs. I would say just add in other species villagers in that way. Like Puppies, Kittens and so on. But keep it relatively small-average amount.

Though an idea where two villagers create like a townhouse would be cool. To keep it simple it would just stack the exteriors and when you enter its on villager interior on the main, stairs on the left at the entrance and up there is the second interior.

On my island my two cranky wolves Chief and Wolfgang are “married” lol. They live next to each other and share a garden. I don’t have any other “couples” at the moment tho. (Maybe a love triangle between Bam/Diana/Fauna...)

In terms of other family relationships, I’m pretty sure that Nan and Chevre are grandma and granddaughter. They both have photos of each other in their houses and Nan gives off grannie vibes.

Then it’s canon that Chrissy and Francine are obviously sisters... (also possibly humans wearing bunnie costumes 😬)

Oh I love that idea! I've been secretly pairing up my villagers 😉

On my island, Cherry is Lucky's big sister. There was one time that Lucky was happily singing and dancing around my orchard, and he told me that Cherry helped him pick apples when he couldn't reach them. It was too cute.

Another couple on my island is Marshal and Poppy. I picture their back story to be the bad (but good-looking) student in the class falls in love with the No.1 student, a really cliche anime plot lol.

I relate to this post so much. I was also inspired by the wedding event. I actually did my own wedding event in my town but with Barold and Olive. I have their houses side by side. They are definitely married. Nan and Rodeo kind of look like a nice couple as well. I’ve been sort of pairing them together. I’m not as invested in them as I am with Barold and Olive. Those two for sure have been married forever.

I don’t want villager babies though. However the quest for looking for the babies would be great for villagers that already have babies ( the kangaroos). I have Mathilda in town, and I would love to have to hide and seek with her baby.

I think @Dunquixote mentioned in another thread about two story villager apartments which I thought was such a cute idea. I really doubt nintendo will ever expand beyond the one unique house per villager thing but it’s nice to dream! On my island Cyd is Dizzy’s big brother. Cyd is always concerned about Dizzy’s future. I see them hanging out often and when Dizzy zooms around because he’s a play hobby, I would often see Cyd zooming with him.

I’d definitely would love to see Katie in the game again and this time with her mom :D; I thought it was so weird in HHD that she was the one setting up the appointment to have a new house built and designed. I’d personally welcome more kittens & other “babies.”

So far, the only villagers that I’ve paired up is Punchy and Kiki. I had fun designing Punchy’s house in HHD and using the amiibo cards and this idea has stuck to me since then. I made a little small backyard next to Kiki, for the two to use to go on little dates (their houses are right next to each other), but I’ve only seen Kiki using the area as well as other villagers lol.

I always liked the idea of villagers living with each other as rookmies or a villager rooming with you! That would be so cool.

I always pair them up in my head and it's so much easier to move their houses around in NH.

In NL I had Teddy and June as a couple. And I remember Shep once telling me that Cherry was his cousin.
