Same item variations in Nook’s Cranny?

I’ve gotten some items in Nook’s cranny multiple times. For some reason, they always seem to be the same one. For example I got the screen multiple times already (I believe the 3rd time today). And it was always the Pine variant. Anyone else experiencing this? Or am I just really unlucky?

I believe I have gotten a couple book variants in my game? I'm not sure whether these were bought from Nook's or gifted to me though

You can get one variant from the store, and another from trees/ballons. Redd's overpriced furniture seems to be different from those two, but I'm not sure if he has all remaining variations or just a third one.

Yeah, I seem to always get the same colors as well...likely to encourage trading and use of their online mode.

Ahhhhhh seriously?? I find that super lame. I haven't put tons of hours into my game yet (I work all the time) so I'm not sure on my variants. I did notice I got a couple of them same - like the teaset I saw was the same. But I mean really? We can't even buy the different variations at our Nooks? That's gonna drive me nuts if that's true.

It does seem like it's true. I didn't think it was at first, but it seems to be. You can absolutely get other colors via villager gifts, balloons, shaking trees, and from Redd. That's so random though. If you want a specific item in a specific color, you probably should just trade online for it, because you may or may not ever find it on your own.

It seems like you can get all of the clothes/accessories variants, it's just the furniture that is harder to get all of the colors.
