i think i was more horrified than sad
i probably did cry for that whole dog scene, but i can't recall since it's been more than 5 years since i last saw it

fair enough i didn't find it too horrifying per se since i've seen a lot, but def. sad.

I've only watched one anime in my life (Full Metal Panic! - was fantastic) but I remember my big, burly friend telling me about one called Wolf's Rain that made him cry like a baby.

Me and my dad watched Wolf's Rain, it was really good!

clannad for sure. angel beats was a huge disappointment. it never appealed to me to begin with, but so many people have been trying to get me to watch it because its so sad and everything, but that anime was overall garbage. i had to force myself to watch it all in hopes of the depressing punch coming in the last episode, but it never happened. anohana did make me cry, but not as much as clannad, and i dropped your lie in april

I was to answer the Grave of the Fireflies but it's not among the choices.

All other animes had something that annoyed me. I didn't find Angel Beats sad, in Anohana it annoys me that she had 14 but still act like a tiny kid, BUT I guess it was the memory they had of her. Clannad was not my cup of tea, After story was better though. Your lie in April was cute but once again like in Clannad we are dealing with some mysterious disease that doesn't make much sense to me (but anyway, logic and anime..)

Shoujo Cosette, it's the Les Mis?rables anime and it's so sad. :'(
They even included a scene from the book about my second favourite character: Jehan Prouvaire.
So touching but so sad.
It's where I got my avatar image. :)

Out of the options I only liked the first two but Anohana is way sadder.
It's a shame because the producers of Angel Beats wanted to make the story and the rest of characters WAY more developed but their budget was cut so the anime itself was rather rushed. I would have liked to see what it was supposed to be.

O; I've only seen Angel Beats from all the options. I can't even remember what it was about either xD

I have seen Clannad and Anohana and Angel Beats. The 4th one I have not seen it. However, I have to say Clannad is the saddest anime to me from this list. I mean, it wasn't really the saddest ending of them all, but it does make us sad in various of scenes. I really want to believe Clannad has touched us all. But let's not forget the other 3 on the list as well. I bet they all touched our hearts as well.

Does astroboy count?
...
The boy was vaporized and then was replaced by a robot and nobody even seemed to care that he was gone anymore!

Full Moon wo saga****e and Air

Can I ever spell the anime without it getting censored c':

Anohana. But there is one manga I read a couple years ago that was the SADDEST THING I EVER READ I CRIED
