Hmm, cool if true (also good as I may get a nice discount on a WiiU by the time the next 3 years have passed if the last waiting time was anything to go by. Saving the ???s!). Will have a looky at E3 this year and see what's coming up. Thank you aurag2!
Meh, I'm more into the portable Animal Crossing games. Wish the WiiU had more games that interest me though, Animal Crossing would give me a reason to get one haha.
I think Animal Crossing is good on both types of consoles. I prefer home consoles for the bigger screen and I never take my 3DS anywhere with me anyway (though I am starting to more for Play Coins).
And I may be too pessimistic, but if they are making one for the WiiU, it'll probably just be New Leaf with a few extra features. They burned us with City Folk.
I prefer Animal Crossing on portable consoles as I do take my 3DS with me to different places. I have no plans to buy a Wii U, even if it does have Animal Crossing on it.
Personally I don't see it happening, unless it has connective features with New Leaf in some way. I could see a spin off game perhaps, like the mini game on Nintendo Land.
I fully expect there will be an Animal Crossing for Wii U at some point. But the only reason I see it being announced now is if they make it fully compatable with New Leaf. - like the Monster Hunter games.
And I don't see an entirely new Animal Crossing game being announced a week after it gets released here, that'll encourage newcomers to think they might aswell skip New Leaf for the next game. (Not realising it might take 3 years again!)
And I disagree on AC being better portable. Though maybe that's just because I started with it on GC.
I think Animal Crossing being portable is good if you're going on family trips and such. But then that means less enjoying the trip and more playing your 3DS. To be on topic, I wouldn't get my hopes up. The game is barely out for everyone (at least in the U.S./Europe) and it'd be weird announcing a new game already.
I'm sure eventually there will be an Animal Crossing Wii U but I think it's too soon considering New Leaf is just releasing outside of Japan. Maybe Nintendo wants a console version to sync with the 3DS like they plan to with the next smash bros. Guess we'll wait and see!
As a wife and mother, my TV choices are second to husband and kid, therefore I much prefer Animal Crossing on the portable system. Play a few minutes here and there without loading it up and trying to negotiate a "turn". We have several TVs but I'm sure we'd only have one WiiU and it would be on the biggest TV along with all the other game consoles. I'd never get to play.
I like the freedom of portable gaming, especially for a game like Animal Crossing. I don't want to be confined to a room, I like laying in bed and playing before I go to sleep, or running some errands while watching a movie or something.
After how great Wild World was, and how bad City Folk was, I don't think I'll ever pick up a console Animal Crossing again. I know it started on the N64, but Animal Crossing is really much better suited as a handheld game.
