Smash Bros Roy & Ryu Pretty Much Confirmed for Smash 4

Hey it's all good, we all have an opinion. Some people like FE a lot and are probably excited to see Roy. It's just a bummer for me personally.

Me too. As much as I love new characters, I can't stand certain games getting special treatment when there are much more deserving characters that should be added. (I mean, 5 representatives, and of which 3 are clones of each other..)

meanwhile here's animal crossing with only 1..

Thanks for understanding haha. I guess I just made an assumption haha.

Anyways, to get back on topic, I personally am very excited for these characters, and excited to see what Nintendo has in store for future DLC

only 15 more hours until I can play as my baby boy lucas...

the wait has been so long, but I'm positive it'll be so worthwhile

(his announcement brought me to tears. I'm not joking around)

I'm just dissapointed that they're likely going to be the E3 reveals. For the past two years we've gotten 3 unique newcomers, each with a 3rd party, so it seems in check for Ryu to be shown since he's also a big 3rd party character. However, when you hear about Roy, not only is he a veteran that from what it seems not a lot of people want to see, but he's also a clone, which makes it all the worse.

To me it just seems very underwhelming. It'd be like getting Young Link, Pichu, and Pac-Man for one of the biggest events of the year. Not only are they "old" and wouldn't be as refreshing as a newcomer, but they're also clones, and like with Pac-Man it seems there's a group of people who just don't care at all for Ryu.

Although, since there's only been two new reveals so far maybe there's hope for a 3rd (unless it's just Wolf guh).

One of the best soundtracks is apparently back

!!! YAS

Something that I can actually look forward to! I loved this and I was disappointed it wasn't in smash 4 to begin with. This makes the disappointment of Ryu and Roy being DLC somewhat bearable.

Isn't the Fire Emblem franchise much more popular in Japan than in the rest of the world? That could explain why it got 5 reps in the latest Super Smash Bros. games so far.

what do you mean

didn't we get over 10 new characters in sm4sh?

He mean at every E3, we get 3 new characters. First it was Villager, Wii Fit Trainer and Megaman. Last year it was Palutena, Miis and Pac-Man.

But Zelda is still more popular there yet we haven't gotten a new character since Melee. -_-

Ohh, maybe a new char is gna be announced alongside the two existing ones (ryu and roy)

I mean, we technically already know about lucas, so he can't be re-announced. I'm sure we'll see a new char as a result of the ballot, since Ryu and Roy were planned before the ballot

Im not sure if it will be based on the ballot or not since the ballot doesnt end for a while. Who knows though? I personally have a feeling it will be another veteran or another pre-planned character

Every Nintendo game is much more popular in japan so this logic doesn't really make sense

well I assume that they're not just going to use the ballot only for 1 new character

The problem is if they use the ballots results it could potentially skew the whole thing because the current winner might be over taken in the future (I mean I'll probably end up waiting until the last minute to even vote so I'm probably not alone).

I don't think it's an entire "whoever gets the most votes gets put in the game", I think they more or less did it for the char suggestions and so that they could see which characters were most requested.

It's a ballot, not a competition! Just vote, I've already voted like 8 times for several different characters.

As I've mentioned before, I don't think the fighter ballot is a populatrity contest, in that whoever has the most votes will make it into the game, I think it's more of a "suggest your character and we'll consider", regardless of how many votes they had. That said, they're obviously going to take votes into consideration, because if they were stuck between two characters they really liked, but one had a lot more votes, than that's obviously going to get priority.

Damn we in sync

Yeah, I didnt mean it like that. My main point was that they might not have reviewed the characters voted for yet

Yeah, I can see them going about it like that, and I honestly hope they do, because that means there might be a good reveal tomorrow.

Tbh I don't think we'll get any new announcements for characters tomorrow.

If we get any at all, more than likely they won't be arriving in this next patch that comes with Lucas and the gang. I think if more characters were on the way in this patch, they probably would have found the data for them by now.

I'm hoping during the actual Digital Event on Tuesday, Nintendo at least announces Wolf, and then maybe the deadline for the Smash Ballot voting period...who knows really.

On a side note, from the snippets of Roy gameplay I've seen so far, he's looking to be the best out of all the clones. Faster, throws seems to do a little less knockback which could result to more combo potential, faster recovery on his side-b and smash attacks. Can't wait to get my hands on him >.<
