Rover's 'role'?

from the trailer we've seen, he's just kinda vibing on a special May day ticket island? could he be a normal cat villager now, and we can invite him to live on our island, or is he going to give us something (whether it be some recipes, special tasks, idk)? pls share your ideas I can't stop thinking about this lol

I'm guessing he'll just be an NPC who gives you something at the end of the maze.

Since Rover was always an NPC we never got to see much of and almost exclusively took care of "video gamey" business like character creation, I'm going to guess he'll just show up to commemorate certain events.

As others said, I'm just assuming he'll be a special npc. Maybe he'll have special items or maybe just show up for the nostalgia.

I highly doubt they'd make him a villager. Though funny to think about how hugely popular he'd be if he was.

I watched a video where someone had the idea that the maze was a test of skill, and you start with an empty inventory and have to make tools and break the trees/rocks to get to the end.Very interesting if its true! c:

So NL actually happens after NH chronologically, and that is why Raymond wasn't in it. This makes perfect sense

I don‘t think it’s live, but maybe I’m just doing something wrong. the sign outside of town hall says to visit resident services about it, but when i go in neither of them say anything and there’s nothing in the atm about it so idk. and i visited the airport too just in case but nothing.

i’m assuming he’s still an npc and seeming as how the may day tour appears to be a maze, it’s likely that once you reach rover, he’ll give you a prize of some sort ;u;
