I just started playing again after a few months and am working on my house. I have no particular theme in mind, I just like things to look cute and look like my character could actually live there. I expanded my house way too much for no reason so now I have 2 rooms I dunno what to do with. My first floor main room is a living room with a kitchenette, the room to the right is a laundry room, and my attic is a bedroom. I was trying to make the back room a garden/greenhouse type thing but I got bored with that and would rather have plants throughout my house. And I have no idea what to do with my left room. Any ideas?

music room, study, you could put a dining room with the kitchen and the move the living room to the room

at the moment my house is no-where near done, but this is what i have so far:

main room is kinda a mish-mash: it's my bedroom area, i also have a couch, some vases and plants
left room: my instrument collection - i have my grand piano, harpsichord, and a couple of strings
back room: a japanese-inspired spa
right room: at the moment i'm tossing up between a greenhouse or a cafe

i also keep baskets of fruit in my top room

but i did the same - i expanded wayyyy too fast and my house looked shocking for ages!

good luck on your interior decorating journey!

If a room feels too big you could make it artificially smaller with, say, bookcases. As for rooms you could do? I think an office/study/reading room space would be cool. Or maybe a kitchen.

maybe a studio/study? make a room based off of something you like?

if you like sports, then make your own gym.
if you like art, make an art studio
if you like music, make a music room
etc

A guest room is always an option. If I'm ever stuck for a room, I collect all the items from the same set and make it into a guest bedroom.

In Applewin, Kathy’s back room is full of plants and flowers.

I have tended to create media rooms.

A Gracie room is not a bad idea.

I think a human’s house can have a personal touch just by making it functional—that each room has a purpose.

I have no doubt this thread’s OP will make a decision which is very satisfying. That’s part of the reason, and often a result, from a game which is creative and stimulating.

- artist's room with easels, palettes, mismatched furniture, plants (maybe even the cardboard box with sunflowers on top?)
- music room with music stand, instruments, custom design band posters
- underground bar with jukebox, bar stools, neon signs
