(Roleplay) Resistance

[Beary]

"I'm you're friend, am I correct?" I remark.

 

[cannedcommunism]

"Of course," I say. "It was just that we only met today, and I don't really know you too well."

 

[Beary]

"Hm. Well, I'm sure that can be fixed." I adjust myself so that I'm facing him.

 

[cannedcommunism]

I smile. "Yeah," I say.

 

[Beary]

"So, what kind of a band were you in?"

 

[cannedcommunism]

"A rock band. We had one drummer, another guitarist, and 2 singers, one of which also wrote our songs. We've only been locally successful, but we planned on going further."

 

[Beary]

"I'm sure I would've liked your music." I look at my hands. "I'm not the best with people, so I'm very sorry if I say anything that is awkward or not appropriate in the current situation."

 

[cannedcommunism]

"Oh, it's okay," I say. "Would you like to listen to a song?"

 

[Beary]

"I'd love to, if that's okay with you."

 

[cannedcommunism]

"Okay," I say, standing up. I pull out a copy of the band's latest album, and play the first song.

 

[Beary]

I sit with my eyes closed, listening to it. When it ends, I open my eyes and smile. "You and the band were very talented. I may not look like it, but I really like listening to rock music."

 

[cannedcommunism]

"Thanks. I've been trying to match that with my solo work, but it just isn't the same."

 

[Beary]

"I understand that. What part were you in the band?"

 

[Jawile]

I give a small wave goodbye to the girl behind the counter, and walk home.

 

[cannedcommunism]

"Lead guitarist. I'm still getting the hang of the drums and vocals, but it's kind of hard to get used to."

 

[Beary]

"I'm sure you're fantastic." I say, attempting to be encouraging.

 

[cannedcommunism]

"Thanks," I say, half-smiling.

 

[Beary]

"Why did you invite me hear instead of anybody else?" My question is quick and to the point. "I'm just curious..if you don't want to answer, that's perfectly fine."

 

[cannedcommunism]

"Well, I talked to you the most out of everybody else, so I decided that it would be less awkward than if I invited somebody I barely talked to. Like the barista," I say.

 

[Beary]

"Logical." I crack a half smile.
"On the subject of the Singular Universe: when exactly did I start? I didn't know it exsisted until my mother brought it up."
