right combo for black cosmos?

Been trying to grow all the black hybrids but for some reasons the cosmos will not produce black. Given that all other black hybrids grow from red parents, logically it follows cosmos would too. But I've been trying for weeks and gotten nothing but reds. I tried for black tulips recently and got one after a few days. And additionally, the major online guides don't agree on the best combos for black cosmos. Thonky says orange cosmos or red and orange, the AC wiki says reds, and ign agrees with thonky as far as orange. Could somebody please tell me which way is the correct one?

I bred red and yellow to get orange

Then orange to make at least one black cosmos

Then at least one black and orange together to make more black

If they're the only flowers you water it should happen fairly quickly. Good luck!
