Little under a half hour left to claim Carmen, before I end up voiding her to continue cycling. I'd really, really rather not void her if I don't have to since there were/are others interested in her but others have been waiting for other villagers more vigilantly that I'd rather have higher priority.

Ah, good to hear! I'll open up the gates then.
I don't have a stylus so I won't be able to reply very quickly in-game but I'll show you to Carmen and anything you see still in the town that you'd like to take (fruit, flowers, items, etc.) you are welcome to take! There are a couple items next to Carmen's house as well that belong to her that you can take with you if you want to return them to her via mail or something.
