So the new character trick, you know, choosing where villager houses go, isn't working for me. I'm expecting someone to move in today, so instead of loading one of my already made characters, I choose 'new save file' instead. And of course the villager plopped their house down in a very inconvenient spot, so I eject the game card and then restart with another new save file. Except that the house stubbornly remains in the same. exact. spot.

I've done this three separate times and the house hasn't moved! And I know for a fact that I didn't accidentally load a saved character.

I am so angry. Someone please help

Did you receive that villager from someone else? If so, I believe that there's nothing that you could do to change it. It happened to me too. I even tried using that trick as well. It didn't work for me. I'm pretty sure the villager trick only way for it to work if you have under 9 villagers. I'm not sure, but if you are experiencing trouble, you should move this thread to Bell Tree HQ. Hope this helps!

It just does that sometimes. No matter where you got the villager, sometimes the plot won't move for awhile. If you keep trying, eventually it would move. I had to plot reset for days because the plot won't move but in the end, it should move.

I'd recommend not ejecting the gamecard as it could damage your save file. Just close out via the home menu instead

I did get him from someone else! I had no idea that would affect it! Ugh. I guess there are worse places he could have settled. Thank you for the info!

And I think it is not that abnormal to see the home land on the same spot three times or more. I also did some plot resettings not long ago. Somehow the new villagers kept setting their home right next to my town hall 4-5 times, but it was a new villagers each time since I had only 8 villagers at that time.

I tried again and his house was in s different spot! It was still a bad spot, but it was movement! Thanks for the advice!

Okay, that makes sense. I'll use the home button from now on.

Ye like the other person said try pressing the home button, my save file corrupted when I did it so I had to reset this morning, though it wasnt so bad because I was contemplating it anyways.

sometimes it just take a bit. getting the villager from someone else and number of villagers already in town has no effect on where moveins plot.

That happened to me once. What I did was power my 3DS off and turn it back on. After that the plot started moving again.

Just keep trying it, sometimes villagers have spots they like more then others. Are you sure you didn't go past 6am on your mayor account/main account?

Please don't eject the game card, it can take you steps closer to a corrupted file. Simply go to the home menu and close the game.

They are talking about plot resetting

sometimes a villager will stay in one spot for a while...it takes time...

be patient

as long as you haven't loaded any character save files they should move but it may take a while

It took me once a month to plot rest so have fun ^^

edit: also don't remove the game card as you could corrupt your file...the press the home button or the power button and do it that way

Okay, I got the little turd to move in somewhere reasonable. Thanks for the advice everyone! <3

Just keep trying like other people have said!
I have had this happen to me on 5 different occasions and it took me a while but I finally got the villagers to move plots to a better spot.
