if your 3ds and the game are both relatively new, and you haven't registered either with club nintendo, then you register them and you get a download code for a downloadable version of x or y. is it a code that came with the game, or the club nintendo download code?

Ah okay see I gave my 3DS Club Nintendo code to someone a few days ago, plus my 3DS is over two years old...but I've got my Pokemon X club Nintendo code. What I've got is the Club Nintendo code that came with the game.

I was just confused I hadn't heard about getting a downloadable code before.
