Resetting frustrations

I mean like.. do you really have to set up in the most outskirt plot of town >_> Yeah you can plot reset but aiddfg

I think there are only 3 different grass options: circle, square, triangle and then they change to a different one in the winter. Circles goes to stars, Triangles go to squares, and Squares got to hexagons. Hopefully that makes my chances a little better :)

I was idly trying to figure out the odds of this because I'm a huge nerd.

3/5 chance of getting the right (or a passable) fruit
1/4 chance of getting the right town hall
1/4 chance of getting the right train station
1/6 chance of getting the right grass

My math might be a bit shaky because I was never the best at probability but it looks to me like it's already about a 1/100 chance of you getting all of those together.

Adding on south facing waterfall plua a "nook" - I'm assuming by "nook" you mean a river loop. I was just looking at the image with all the map options and that's probably going to cut out 2/3 of available maps. In that case you have about a 1/300 chance of getting your ideal town. Maybe it's time to compromise a bit? :)

I think there are only 3 grass types but each one changes to a different one during winter
circle to stars
squares to hexagons
triangles to squares

does this help my odds any :P

I don't like pears, cherries, or apples, yet it seems I get those more often... I saw a town layout where the villager's houses were all bunched up by the south, leaving lots of room.

I wish I had your patience Melody xD I only resetted once or twice on my second ACNL game and then I got tired of it (wanted a nice river and all xD) you're not crazy and I wish you to get it soon :) when you have your perfect town, may I come see it? :)

Sure! I want to build a dream suite really soon after I get my town :)

I was always resetting, then playing for a couple of days deciding I didn't like the map at all...then reset it again. I am currently playing a map I am pretty okay with. I have plans for most of the PWPs to go...so it's looking pretty promising.

Just don't get so worked up over it. It is just a game after all. :)

But I do wish you luck getting at least 3 of the "requirements" you want.

I am pleased to announce that this morning on January 23rd, I got my perfect town :D Circle grass (stars right now because it's winter), blue train station, blue town hall, peaches, two ponds, a private area for my house, and a cove! Pictures and dream address coming soon!:)

I just reset my town last night because well I wasn't exactly happy with how it was...the layout...So I found one that I semi love. So we shall see if I can make this a great town. Once I unlock the dream suite I will post my code. Until then! Happy crossing! :P

I'm happy for you getting your good layout! I didn't have any requirements for "perfect town" so I wouldn't know the difficulties of resetting for it, but it sounds hard!

Congrats! To be honest your requirements are really similar to what mine were. Though I only took 4-6 hours resetting iirc, I got circle grass, cherries, a south waterfall and 2 ponds. I'm not really sure what you were going for specifically with the nook but I also wanted a nook up near the top waterfall where I could place my mayors house (but most of the towns had a darn rock right in the way of where I wanted my house to be haha).

Turns out I also got a blue train station & town hall, but I didn't care about the colours of them much :)
Oh, another thing I wanted was the walkway down to the beach to be vertical, not horizontal. Tbh I couldn't stand it being horizontal in my second town.

Its a great feeling when you get your perfect town though! :) I look forward to your pics!

Ok I finally got around to putting up a picture of my town layout that I worked so hard for! I think I wrote that I had peaches on my last post but I meant to say pears :P I decided I was ok with anything that was not oranges. Some of my villagers need to move away from around the town hall so I can landscape it. But, yeah I love my layout:

-Blue Town Hall
-Blue Train Station
-Circle Grass
-South facing waterfall
-Town hall not near a cliff
-Town tree not near re-tail
-Re-tail at the top of the map in the corner and out of the way of PWPs
-Secluded area for the mayor's house
-I LOVE the big holding pond right in front of the town tree!
-Cove area on the beach
-Golden Pears!
-2 ponds (not blocking anything)

I reset for 5 days for the new town that I have now, and it only has one annoying factor, which is pears. But I'm glad it's not peaches or oranges.

For the town before, it took about a week, and I had most of the things I wanted.

I finally have a dream address: 4200-3589-5128. My town is sort of a mess right now since I am planning things out and marking where PWPs will be but feel free to come visit!
