Resetti Idea

Okay. This idea just came out of nowhere while I was diving and thinking of using the Rescue Service because I'm too lazy to swim back to the land.

I just had a thought of Resetti having a "Reset Service". Instead of Isabelle (I know she'll be left with nothing else to do), maybe we could consult Resetti to reset villager catchphrases, outfits, and even their houses. And by "reset", I mean, completely removing the user-given greetings, catchphrases, the whole villager wardrobe, and all furniture. Think factory default.

Then we actually see Resetti talking to the villager with his lovely demeanor. And the villagers shake in terror.

Honestly this is a fantastic idea. I'd like Resetti to come back, but really only in a non annoying way. He would be incredibly helpful if this was his use in NH. I think everyone would be super happy to be able to fully reset(ti) gifted villagers.

Absolutely. This would also prevent scams from happening in a slight way; ex. a person buys an “ungifted” villager and they actually have multiple shirts and a plasma ball (cough cough) and the villager can be factory reset so it’s not something to fret over.

I have only played ACNH so I don't really know Resetti but I love this idea. I just gave Poppy a gift intended for Colton (blue noble coat) and I don't like it on her at all. (However, she loves it. I would give her one just not that color.) If I could have her reset that would be great. Otherwise, the only option to get her reset would be to boot her or let her leave and then bring her back with her Amiibo card which I have. But I'd rather not because then I have to start friendship points again.

Also, can I just say that I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses Rescue Service to get teleported when diving? It's the best thing ever and worth every Nook Mile it costs!!!

You can technically reset any villager's wardrobe. You just need to gift them their default outfit 24 times.

Or you could give her 24 outfits that you want, so that the blue noble coat is removed from her wardrobe.

I had this problem with Rolf. I adopted him and he's has a dress. I've given him so many clothes almost daily and I've never seen that dress ever again.

Take note that some of the outfits you give will be displayed (rather than worn) in their houses though.

That's a good point. I don't love when they do that. Somehow Muffy ended up with a white and red chef outfit and I gifted her some black and purple clothing but she continues to wear the chef outfit and displays the clothing I gave her. I may boot her and Poppy and bring them back. That the great benefit of having Amiibo cards. I'll be sad if Poppy displays clothing in her perfect house. Both she and Muffy have perfect, fancy houses that I hate ruining.

Yes. But I wanted to see him do just the opposite. See him hesitate as the player asks him to.
And it's better than nothing, I suppose.

bro this is genuinely a great idea!! resetti is definitely much, much more authoritative than isabelle is and so, he’d really be a godsend for something like this! overall, i’d just love for him to actually be useful again :’)

I would love that sooo much! Bonbon keeps displaying her clothes in the house and replaced her stereo with a hat. I tried to give her another stereo and she won't put it in the house.

That'd be nice. Resetti should, like, go steal stuff out of their house and yell at them until they stop using a certain phrase. Sometimes I regret giving a villager a certain piece of clothing, sometimes their default outfit just sucks too. There needs to be more chaos, and they could add the police dogs back so that you could only use Resetti once a day (because once he does it the dogs are on the case but forget the next day).

What's the risk that villager displays that clothing as a mannequin in their house?

Ahhh, I love this idea! I bet a lot of people would appreciate this, especially me. I’m kinda afraid to give villagers gifts from another villager and I really don’t want to open the gift to see what it is, so this idea would be so helpful. I plan on adopting villagers one day from some other people in the villager trading thread and if they did indeed had some bad stuff, doing this idea would be great and a lot less time consuming.
