Reset trick Isn't working!!

When i noticed mira's house RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY MURAL, i turned off the game completely. But when i started up again, the house was in the same place; i even turned wireless communications off!

is there something i'm doing wrong?

You probably saved the game. In order to do the reset trick you have to set the time before 6 am and then make a new character. If the house isn't in a good location then press the power button and return to the home screen. Then start the game back up again and make another character. You keep doing this until you get the villager to move into your desired location. Once you find a good location save the game and you're done!
