Repeating fossils

I have donated fossils to Blathers and the museum shows I have donated them more than once.

1. Visit Blathers with fossils to evalutate and he states his usual " we don't have this one"

2. Look on 3ds screen to see what fossil he wants donated.

3. look in my guide book to mark it and I have already donated it.

First time it happened I thought maybe I made a mistake.

This has happened a total of 5 times.

Does anyone else have this problem? I never have time traveled.

I was thinking maybe something did not save before I turned on my wireless Internet.

even when I don't time travel I still get the same fossils sometimes it's apart of the whole randomized coding in the game so you don't complete everything in a week.

Fossils were never designed to come in a "first needed first appearing" type order, they have always been random since the GC version that I know of. It makes good sense that they don't just hand you what you need every day otherwise they wouldn't be as challenging to collect either. It means the last few are going to be really hard to get

Not sure any of you have addressed the OPs problem! I'm not sure why this has happened either, it certainly hasn't happened to me so I can't say for sure. Playing either on or offline shouldn't make any difference as I switch between the two all the time and it makes no difference.

This is weird, but then you will always find a small percentage of games that don't quite function as they should . Maybe someone else with the same problem will come along.

The only thing I can think is if something happened not too long after last time you donated them. Last night I was playing shortly after someone left my town and my screens randomly went black, the train "loading" symbol came up and I was back outside my station having lost what I'd done since the game saved itself when my visitor left. All I'd done was plant a tree and pick up my tools from the beach, but I was lucky that it wasn't more.

Maybe something similar to this? (long shot I know, as you would have noticed this happen)

I agree with the above poster. Have you actual,y gone into the fossil section of your museum to see if the game has the fossil there? If so then it sounds like a new glitch. But if not then it sounds like you're not saving or the game for whatever reason is not saving once you donated those particular fossils. Do you remember ever having your batteries in the ds die or accidentally powering off before saving?

I have ALWAYS saved!!!!!!!!!! I have never run out of battery power or even accidentally turned it off.

I have 2 copies of the game because I am building 2 towns. This repeating fossil issue is only on one of the games.
