Hi hi~! I have a question for everyone regarding DIYS. For the one you find on your beach each day (it's just one, right?), and the 2-3 you can get from your crafting villagers, does the game typically try to get you new ones? I've been having poor luck with that and been getting quite a few repeats. So I was wondering what everyone's experience has been for this.

I is random, the only DIYs that are weighted in favor of giving you ones you don't already own are the seasonal and Celeste recipes. At the start of the game it may appear like it keeps giving you ones you don't own, but after you get 150+ of them, every other one will be a duplicate and it will just increase from there.

My understanding is that personality type also matters, apparently certain personalities only give out a specific group of DIY's. "A villager's personality seems to dictate what DIY recipes they can hand out while crafting in their home."
I also have a problem with this. Something I noticed on my son's island is that he has his own set of repeat DIY recipes that often get dropped over and over. I think it's similar to fruit in that some recipes are just more likely to drop for you. What has been helping me is that I created multiple new characters (without placing their tents down though) and gather their daily DIY off the beach.

I most often than not get repeats. Even in NMT islands. It’s frustrating and I even thought my game was broken or bugged but then again, it might just be rotten luck because I’m so lucky with villagers. I guess it balances out in some weird way with the repeat DIYs.

I must be living under a lucky star, because I have gotten very few duplicates.

I have myself and my sister. I noticed she gets gold diys pfft better than I can. My diys are typically repeats. The rare villager gives good diy as well. Every now and then I'm lucky with a balloon. But having two players on my island instead of just me helped a lot.
I'm starting to think what you wear and carry has some sort of connection to what you'll obtain.
Example: when I wear blue I obtain blue things. But if I have iron I'll get iron diy

I get mostly repeats from my normal and peppy villagers, probably because I've gotten most of the DIY these personalities can give out. It kinda sucks how they're the ones that are crafting things most of the time, but then again 50% of my town is comprised of peppy and normal villagers lol.
I've been getting repeats as well. I get 1 or 2 from the beach (2 on rare occasions), 3 more my villagers. but its better to keep an eye out for people who host to get new diys which is what I've been doing
