Removing villagers’ stereos

Hello everyone, I?m back with another question. Has anyone found a trick for replacing stereos in their villagers? homes with orther items? I?ve had villagers replace them, but they seem far more likely to replace another item of the same size, but they will happily replace their stereos with other stereos. You can?t buy them from them when they invite you over and I?ve never had a villager ask to replace one, so I don?t think that?s possible either. I?m at a loss.

He put his stereo up for sale in Re-Tail or gave it to me, I can't remember which exactly.

i think there's a pretty low chance of them replacing the stereos, but you can buy them! when they invite you over to their house, there'll usually be an option to buy their stereos (they typically will let go of them)

In my experience, they never let you buy their stereos

oh? it's always worked for me haha, but if that's the case i guess you can keep sending them furniture until they replace it!

Yeah but then I’ll ruin the rest of their house when they inevitably replace everything else :c do you see my problem? Lol.

I don?t know if you?ve tried this already, but I saw a trick to empty out your re-tail spaces and then keep sending that villager seashells in letters! Eventually that villager will put most of their items up for sale at re-tail that you can buy, hopefully the stereo will end up there eventually!

It's hard aside from sending seashells to your villagers. Plus, there are a few villagers out there that refuse to give up their stereos/music players. I have Jacques in my town and his DJ turntable is the only furniture that can't be replaced with anything else.

If their stereo is sitting on a table or acts like a table (has an item sitting on it), then I think you won't be able to buy it from them. Otherwise, I'm not sure if you can or not.

I've had plenty of villagers replace their stereos when I sent them other items of the same size, but it's not always reliable. I like to change up my villager's decor every now and then, so I don't mind where they place things as long as it doesn't look too jacked up. I send them tabletop items a lot because they're convenient and I know it won't look bad wherever they decide to put it, so a lot of their tabletop stereos get replaced that way.

Ive seen that but since when do villagers display seashells? Why would that cause them to remove their furniture. Plus I?m working on my billagers houses so i dont want to empty retail, its all such a delicate process

Specifically speaking of freya and agnes. They both have on the floor 2x1 space stereos that you can’t place anything on, and neither of them will let me buy them but both have replaced them with stereos of the same size that I’ve sent them. I just sent freya a flower box hoping shed replace her dresser or potentially even her stereo woth it, but of course, that dumb wolf replaced her couch with it, so theres a fiant flower box right in front of her door now...

Because the stereo is big and ugly and in Agnes’s house its against her front wall, so you see it from the back. I would potentially give her a table top record player but idc if my villagers have music or not, except nan who plays kk etude in her perfect little classy home, and i somehow got her to replace her awful retro stereo with a bookshelf and replaced her cello with a lily record player. I love it haha.

I was thinking about this. Are you wanting them to replace it with a new stereo or just get rid of it? Because I would just mail them a letter every day with the item I want them to replace it with until they do it lol. That's what I'm doing trying to get Tangy and Ankha to CHANGE THEIR CLOTHES!
Also maybe, you said their stereos are on the ground? Send them ones that go on the table They won't need two stereos, maybe they'll display the one you give and get rid of the floor ones.

This is true but I know agnes will replace either her couch or her kitchen because she’s not smart and shes asked to replace both of those items before. As for clothes lol ive given up on sending or giving my villagers clothes because they always just display them in their homes and it angers me to no end. I tested my luck by sending biskit a comedian outfit because it would look perfect on him and of course he put it in his house then gave it back to me in exchange for a perfect peach or something waah. My Del and Zell and wearing Bunny Tees and I guess I’m just going to have to live with that. That’s the price I pay for having Ruby in my town lol.

LOL you're right!!! Tangy displayed her first one, THEN told me "isn't my outfit great? It's called SHIRT by anyone in some town" or whatever that design is called lol the plain white shirt. So I was petty about it and went straight to Isabelle and told her Tangy's outfit is inappropriate (they'll change only if the outfit is a design not a programmed shirt) and she changed into some other garbage XD

Every time I try buying their stereo, they always say they “can’t let go” of that item. I saw someone say that they were able to buy their villagers stereos. If the stereo is placed on top of something, it’s not buyable, but it is replaceable, meaning they can ask you to find something else to put on their table or whatever it’s on. If it’s just a big stereo in their house placed on their own, sometimes they’ll sell it to you, sometimes they won’t, but it is replaceable. So I guess either wait for pings that they want to sell you that item, replace it, or invite you to their house. Other than that, they might place it in Re-tail. That’s all I got.

They can and will display 2 stereos in their home. I gave Bruce a hi-end stereo to replace his sleek table, but he used to have a cassette player on the table. Well, I forgot about it and gave him a table later to replace his iron frame. He put the cassette player right back out on the new table so now he has that and the hi-end stereo in his house at the same time. These villagers have no common sense. LOL
