[REMINDER] Shamrock items are now available (Mar 10 to 17th) 🍀🍀🍀

Thanks for the reminder, I’d completely forgot about these items and am in May on my island (trying and failing to kick out a villager), now I’ll know to go back to the right date when I’m next on my game so I can order some of those sodas that I’ve been waiting for :D

Ugh, I hate this stupid timelocking. It's so pointless and needlessly punishes time travelers. But thanks for the heads up.

At least I didn't TT just to get the items like I've tried other times!
Not that time traveling is a crime, but I never understood the point of time traveling to collect items quickly.

I can understand TT if you have to move villager houses quickly or such annoying tasks, but otherwise I'm glad New Horizons have things time locked so the hype is worldwide for everyone. It makes the community more wholesome.

The only thing NH is doing wrong in time locking stuff is in seasonal event items. Halloween, Toy Day, and Festivale. They always release all these important seasonal items are at the end of the month instead of the very beginning. That grinds my gears.

i bought the shamrock rug today

& i got the shamrock wand from the first balloon of the day :3

Can someone confirm if you can “drink” or pretend to drink the shamrock soda?

I thought we could drink the NY cider and bought like 10 (5 each for my 2 characters) of them because I didn’t know they weren’t consumable. I was SO disappointed you couldn’t drink it like you can in NL and could only do a”Cheers!”

I don’t want to buy 10 of them again and go, “Oh... Welp.”

Why would you want it to disappear after being consumed? But I do however admit that instead of the "cheers" animation, there should have been a drinking one instead.

Beautiful. I have Lucky KK playing on my pier so the islanders pick it up and sing it.

I disagree that it makes the community more wholesome, I don't think it has anything to do with that. People will still be hyped either way. And, frankly, I get MORE hyped when I see and hear about how things will work, beyond just what the videos show. Here's the thing- TTing does not affect you if you don't do it. Period. (and don't get me started on "spoilers"- we still have those from dataminers anyway, and most TTer don't spoil anything)

I go through periods of playing constantly and not playing at all. TTing makes it easier for me to do it. Also, timelocking the event items is absurd because why would I want to decorate my island AFTER the holiday? The way they did Bunny Day and Halloween ended up working out fine, but the others I want to TT ahead to get the items and be ready for the holiday- and it SUCKS when they won't let us.

Bottom line is- for a ton of players, TTing has been a crucial part of gameplay since the first game. But, for some reason, Nintendo apparently decided they needed to put a stop to it in this game for no real reason. All of the things people complain about (spoilers, which still happen, loss of motivation because other people get items first, which is ridiculous, etc.) are nonsense and Nintendo has decided to alienate a bunch of players for, again, NO REASON.

I'm still on the hunt for the wand (got so far only balloons full of useless stuff, as always), otherwise I got the whole outfit already. Absolutely adore the look of it, the hat is my favorite.

IDK if someone's answered this yet, but I got the Shamrock doorplate as my item today, and I'm curious- can anyone translate what it says?

I don't know, I'm not saying its forbiden: but I just don't like the concept of it.

To me people who time travel, are like people who would like, say... Find a copy of a very anticipated new game, but a month before its release day, and post content and everything on youtube about the story and ending.

But sure if the game gets funnier by TT do it, just don't flex on others that you have all these items when you're not supposed to have that many or non at all.

That's just my hot take.

But I'm guessing the vast majority of TTers DON'T spoil the game- I've never spoiled it for anyone, my IRL friends who TT don't, either. It's never even occurred to me because it's rude, and just because I'm a TTer doesn't mean I'm the type of person who'd rudely spoil things for others. So it's not fair to blame everyone who TTs, most of whom aren't out to spoil it.
Also, again, dataminers are still a thing- not being able to TT hasn't prevented spoilers. And I've also seen non-TTers spoil things, too (I've literally seen people like "OHMYGOSH SOMEONE JUST SPOILED _____ FOR ME", thus spoiling it for others, which is ridiculous, and makes you just as bad as the person who posted in the first place- maybe even worse since you apparently know how frustrating it is to have things spoiled(

I mean, if you want to TT, do. If you don't, don't. But I just hate how some people judge TTers or tell them they're ruining the game for themselves or others. I didn't realize there was any stigma until I joined the online community (I literally thought everyone TTed, or it was the rare person who didn't, because all my IRL friends did it) and it totally stunned me that some people were judging me for how I enjoyed the game. I don't judge non-TTers, all I ask is the same respect. I mean, it's not a competitive game at all, so it's absurd that some people feel competitive about how they play.

But seriously, it's like... live and let live, play and let play.

This is spot on. If time traveling is how they enjoy the game good on them. If you choose not to time travel, same boat. At the end of the day we're all part of the same community.
