Recycle Box no longer generating items? (solved)

When I first got ACNH, I was getting a new item every 3rd day or so in the recycling bin, and that wasn't even including the auto-item(s) from villagers moving away. Since around the most recent patch, I've realized that I'm not getting any new items whatsoever. It's been about two months since I last got anything in my recycling bin. Not even a used firework!

Anyone else had this? Are there any obscure glitches that I'm missing that could be causing it? There are so many recycling bin only items that I still haven't received, it's getting a little frustrating not being able to get anything new there.

Recycle bin items only spawn if there are less than 10 items in the bin. If you have anything in there, try emptying out the bin.
