So I've actually never played Zelda before, but I've heard so many good things about it so I really want to try! I need some opinions though, which Zelda game would you recommend me getting for my 3DS?
I'd say Ocarina of Time 3D. Majora's Mask would just be a bit too confusing for a first Zelda game, I think. OOT's story is also pretty important in the general canon of Zelda, so I think it would be a good first game to play.
There's also ALBW, but it's a bit different from those two. A few dungeons can be run in the order of the player's choice, and it features a top-down perspective instead. Story-wise it's also a bit odd.
Majora's Mask 3d and Ocarina of Time 3d were both very good, but quite confusing for new players. I have not tried out Triforce Heroes. For a new player, I would recommend A Link Between Worlds, though this is a personal preference. It was fun and easy to follow the storyline.
Ocarina of Time 3D would definitely be the best choice in my opinion. I agree with Reindeer that Majora's Mask would be a bit confusing for a new player.
Yeah I agree with Ocarina of Time 3D. Majora's Mask shuld only be played if you played Ocarina of time, since Majora's Mask is much more confusing. Ocarina of Time 3D was my first Zelda game, and I loved it, so I'm sure you'll love it as well . I hope you have fun playing!
A Link Between Worlds is the easiest, and was actually my very first LoZ experience. Its title screen theme is still among my favorites.
Ocarina of Time 3D is also fantastic, though the physical copies are no longer being made, I believe, so they cost a bit extra.
Majora's Mask 3D is quite the ride, a bit stressful and confusing, but worth it, in my opinion, especially once you start getting the hang of things.
I'd say if you want to get Majora's Mask, get Ocarina of Time first. The styles are similar, but OoT is far less confusing, with less of the time crunch factor.
Ocarina of Time! Pretty sure that was my first, but there's a couple of other reasons to buy this first:
1. It's the center piece of the supposed storyline
2. Arguably the best/most popular Zelda game
3. Contains all strenghts of the Zelda games
4. After having played this one, the other games make more sense.
5. Environments/gear/story/everything kicks ass.
6. Gives you a good understanding of the basics in an enjoyable way. Majora's Mask could be way confusing to someone who's never played the Zelda series before.
Special note: there's a major difference between the 3D Zelda games and the retro-style Zelda games. Both are really enjoyable and the stories overlap more with each Zelda game, but the perspective in which you play the game is just entirely different and thus the experience of the game. A Link Between Worlds is really popular and has a more modernized retro-style feeling to it. It's really enjoyable, but it's story and overall elements are not as strong as OoT and it feels like more of a spin-off story to me.
However, to each their own opinion! Wish I would be in your shoes, being capable of playing them for the first time again!
to me best are Ocarina of Time 3D and A Link Between Worlds.
Majora's Mask is one of those games you either love or hate. I got halfway through the game but then I got fed up with its annoying time system.
Triforce Heroes is really fun if you like playing dungeons/ challenges with people online. I play it everyday
Ocarina of time, it's a great game for Zelda beginners because it introduces the main mechanics and story of the series! It was my second Zelda game, and it got me into franchise.
A link between worlds has fun gameplay as well, but the overall story is a bit weak imo, at least until the last half hour of gameplay ^^;
