Recommend me some anime!

http://myanimelist.net/anime/13601/Psycho-Pass

I really enjoyed watching Psycho-Pass, I think it will be your type of show. It is about a utopian future where everything is 'perfect' and we see it through the eyes of Akane who is a new member of the police force. The really cool thing about the anime is how crime is dealt with, they have these guns that when pointed at someone tells them their 'psycho pass' level, if they are above a certain level then they get executed on the spot, obviously this leads to lots of drama, and the villain in the show is amazing *swoons*. I won't spoil, but the villain is (not only hot) but reminds me of Moriarty from Sherlock, it's really cool.

Have you watched Shiki?
Honestly one of my favourite gore/horror anime series that I've watched. The violence is so well planned and thrilling to watch.

Higurashi / Umineko can get quite confusing, so I'd probably recommend reading a bit of the manga to follow the word and mind games. They'd still be confusing though....

Elfen Lied
Another
Sword Art Online
Toradora
Sakura Trick
Death Note
Future Diary
Parasyte
Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni
Tokyo Ghoul
^.^

Have you seen Fate/Zero?
I really liked it and the fight scenes were super intense and the plot progression was kinda complicated sometimes kept me on my toes

i suck at explaining things but my point is: It was freakin awesome

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni! It's one of my top favourites for being a great mystery anime full of psychological horror. Watch it subbed because only one season out of the two are dubbed and the dub is horrendous.

If you want some psychological horror, I would recommend Higurashi! If you're looking for more gore-type stuff, I would go with Another and Elfen Lied.
EDIT- Shiki's supposed to be pretty good, too :3

^This.

All kidding aside though, I thought I'd suggest a more light-hearted anime in the midst of all the psychological horror gory stuff
(which I like, but pretty much anything I'd suggest has already been said)

Tsuritama: http://myanimelist.net/anime/12883/Tsuritama

It's just a joy to watch, the colours are nice, the characters are funny, and it just makes you feel good watching it. ^^

SERIOUSLY YOU HAVE TO WATCH BLEACH.

I don't know your taste in anime BUTTT...
it's literally the best, finished two seasons of it in like 1-2 weeks.

This is just a little description of it i took offline

"In Karakura Town, Ichigo Kurosaki becomes a substitute Soul Reaper, when Rukia Kuchiki cannot fulfill her duties after engaging in battle with a particularly powerful Hollow. He later discovers several of his friends and classmates are spiritually aware and have powers of their own: Uryū Ishida is a Quincy, Orihime Inoue possesses a group of protective spirits known as the Shun Shun Rikka and Yasutora Sado ("Chad") has strength equal to the Hollows, later defined as being a Fullbringer. When Rukia is sentenced to death for her transgressions in the human world and taken back to the spirit world of Soul Society, Ichigo seeks out the assistance of Kisuke Urahara and Yoruichi Shihōin, unbeknownst to him as being two exiled Soul Reapers, to allow himself and his friends to save Rukia."

(he's basically a human, who got the substitute soul reaper powers, he can see hollows (which are basically demons) and he battles them keeping them out of the human world, his friends come in contact with different spiritual things and begin to feel spiritual pressure and begin to see things, and most humans can't. rukia gave ichigo the powers and was sentenced to death, along the way there are some crazy plot twists and awesome battles, his friends get powers and he saves rukia eventually, you need to watch it cause it's too good//)

it definitely involves action, ichigo is hecka cool (and cute too and bada**) but he has an awesome blade and its just- it's the coolest anime I've watched in a long time. Like, it's so intense and I LOVEEE it! It always gives you the best storyline, and the best action scenes, like it's one of those animus where you basically strangle your pillow full of excitement and eagerness. But yeah, you should definitely watch it//

Gore? Definitely check out Corpse Party. I wasn't a big fan of the anime myself, but it's gory. The game has a really interesting story though; I love Yoshiki. <3 I remember after watching a playthrough of the game, I was too scared to go out of my house late at night. XD

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Shiki are definitely my favorite horror/thriller animes.

Other good, but non-horror animes I can recommend:

Kill la Kill (Awesome action series)
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (the first FMA anime starts off really good, so it's worth checking out as well)
Daily Lives of High School Boys (the best slice of life I've seen, though Nichijou comes really close)
Gintama
Hunter x Hunter (2011 is what I've seen, though I hear 1999 version is good on its own right)
The Devil is a Part-timer

There are more out there that I can't think of right now, lol.

FMA for the feels, HxH for the action. That's how I felt after finishing up those two. xD

He/She should watch Blood c for sure if gore is one of the preferences. But don't expect any meaning, depth, story or character development
