Recently Re-Installed... I’m Overwhelmed

So I recently put the app back on my phone and was bombarded at once with all the changes and updates such as the cabin, Blathers treasure hunting, the Happy Showroom, all these fortune cookie events, DJ KK, Pete?s mail spot...
The last time I played was when they had just introduced gardening and even that I found to be confusing to learn LOL needless to say I?m a bit overwhelmed!
Could somebody explain what all these fortune cookie events are?

There's currently a spring break log-in event going on where you get a character fortune cookie every day for awhile. The notifications about the fortune cookies aren't events, just announcements. They re-released some old fortune cookies for a few days at a time so a lot of the notifications are that the re-releases are almost out of the shop again.
